Oil temp sender

Does anybody know where merc or cig placed the oil temp sender on late eighties motors? I have a 420 HP and know they put the oil pressure sender on the boss by the oil filter but not sure about temp sender. Thanks

Mine is located in that oil filter boss right next to the pressure sending unit.

I found it for anybody who wants to know. It is located on the block a foot below the oil filter on the left side of the motor.
