Operating Instructions for "Head" in 93 Cafe Racer
 

The head has two buttons under the bowl. One is marked "press to flush" the other has no marking. On the deck there is a fitting marked "waste". If the inlet and outlet valves are open do you just press the flush button and it just dumps in the sea, but if you shut the outlet valve do you press both and it dumps in the holding tank? How do you empty the holdong tank ? - undo the waste cap on the side deck and feed a pipe down into the tank and pump it out?
I have wiring diagrams etc kindly sent from you guys across the pond but no plumbing info or instruction on the head.
Have replaced the 2 pumps, but the the piping looks like "spaghetti junction"

Hope things are well.

The smaller inlet valve under the seat lets water in. When you press the button marked "Flush" it pulls water in and then evacuates the toilet into the holding tank which is under the driver's seat. It only holds about 6 gallons.

When you want to pump it overboard you turn the LARGE valve under the sink and use the other button. This pumps the sewage out of the holding tank and into the river/ocean/stream.

Couple tips:

1 - don't use anything other than biodegradeable TP and make sure the woman know not to use much.
2 - don't let any dudes use it.
3 - a lot of times we don't turn the inlet water valve because it just makes the tank fill up faster.
4 - use an environmentally safe deodorizer

Keep in mind that if it isn't working the pump might have rusted and is causing the fuse to blow.

Thanks for the info and the diagram. Still unsure why there is a inlet/outlet fitiing on the side deck marked "waste" - is this for use in a Marina where they have a pump out facility? Haven't seen this here in the UK.

Hi, you must be joking! You have obviously not experienced a day on the beach in the UK. I would rather stick pins in my eyes!

Yes, this is for the pump out stations at the marina. They have adapters that fit the opening and turn on a pump and it sucks everything out.

You will probably want to run some fresh water in when they get to the end and have them pump that out as well to flush it out a bit.

Make sure you leave it empty when you winterize the boat. Actually - make sure you empty it and then put a little deodorizer in it. I promise you'll be happy you did!!
