Default TRS alignment tool.

Hi, would anyone have the dimensions/drawing for the TRS alignment tool. I have a pair of 425's in a 93 Cafe with Borg Warner boxes.

Fixed plates that bolt to the stringers and race plates that bolt to the engine, no adjustment

Although there is no adjustment with fixed mounts, alignment should be checked occationally to see it things are settling. A friends Cafe Racer ate a coupler, when alignment was checked it was WAY off...turned out the transom was rotted and the gimbal had moved.

alignment?

I thought the engine mounted to the trans, and the trans mounted thru the transome to the outdrive.

What is there to align?

I got my ITS tool from these guys. There is a pic of the TRS tool here too. I guess the only difference is the large round insert.

Hi, ok I see what you mean now thanks to the pics from my friend "seafordguy". They want about $200 for the tool here in the UK ! so if I could get the dimensions I can get it machined up for a lot less.

On an transmission application, there is no gimbal bearing to line up. The trans tailstock needs to be located properly for best u-joint life and prevent the u-joint yoke from contacting the inside of the gimbal housing. This is checked with the line up tool fitted with a disc that slips into the drive bell (helmet)
