Lil red: I will consider a reasonable offer........... |
65K is about right for the ugly yellow boat w the chiefs

I see this thread taking a downward spiral in 5........4...........3.........2..........
|
Dont F this thread up it has worked out well for me for info and everyone helping esp. MMB doing me a huge favor and going to check out the ins and outs of it.
Also as stated and im not being a nut slammer here but I did say 65 is cap thats all he has. Its in a black brief case 100 dollar bills waiting for the correct boat but cant be a red cent over. Under 65 is even better but want it to be a clean ride nice power and drives and so on. You guys get thejist. So posting a for sale on this thread you know where the money offer will be and where it stands. Thanks you every one -Mike |
for 65 k what are his expectations? mild power bravo or trs boat? im sure a nice clean straight bottom will pop up sooner or later. what happened to the early 90's purple and black "bat out of hell" graffics with the hawk motors in it go? that wasnt a bad looking boat and didnt seem overpriced. just my .02
what about this one?? http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o41271-en.html seems a decent price too |
What he is looking for is no bravo no trs mild power SSM drives or Konrad conversion. 65K isnt a ton but also not 30K either there are a lot of boats for sale right now asking crazy money. But he has cash and if some one wants to sell and doesnt wants BS this is the guy. If 65K doesnt buy some ones boat then he doesnt want it. It maybe the best set up but cash is the ruler or all buys so it is what it is. If he doesn't find the boat he will wait until next year or winter. He isnt a trigger happy kinda guy but not shy to spend. Always remeber this "Easy to buy any day but hard to sell everyday."
-Mike |
a year or 2 ago there was a really nice updated straight bottom with newer style "hurricane" paint down the sides orange and yellow if i remember. pretty sure it was a 3a boat and last i knew it didnt sell just taken off the sh!tty market. maybe a member knows or remembers it and has some pics and info on it. it was beautiful and somewhere in the 80k's might pop up again and with cash being king ya never know

not going to make a lot of friends around here with comments like that. Are you looking/interested in a top gun or did you just decide to give your worthless opinion. If it's the latter, no one asked or cares.

Oh and I love your Pantera, I want a 28 or I'd even settle for a 24. I can't sell mine though and until that happens it's a no go. :angry-smiley-038: |
thanks TBAG just bought my pantera in late november and only went out 2x real quick for a blast down the river... im itching to take it out!!!! he was asking in the 80's for that boat a few years ago with no bites on it then. last i knew it never sold just taken off the market. maybe someday
|
Hopefully i hear something thanks guys I appriciate all everyone has added to the thread.

truth hurts huh? bottom line its a 22 yr old boat with an antiquated hull design. it's not worth anywhere near the 98k he's asking.

None of our boats are worth what we think and hope they are. Sad but true. I had a completely redone cigarette Cafe with new paint interior etc. The boat sold in 2 weeks in Sept of 2010 because I let it go for what the market bears. The other part is a lot of buyers today want a turn key boat with blue Merc power and they want twin steps as well. There are still buyers for the boats like this just not as many, and whensomeone has $100k to spend they can start to look at T/S with Merc power. The owner of this boat is looking for a unique buyer, he may just have to wait longer or reduce pricing to attract more buyers. He may do better selling the motors seperate and selling the hull and drives IMO. But as far as insulting him or his boat I think you should show a bit more class. It always amazes me the sh!!t people will say from the keyboard.

finally an intelligent post. in no way was i insulting or bashing the owner. just stating my opinion and we know what opinions are like... i agree that he should sell the power and drives seperate.
I knew when I mentioned the boat, I would risk the negative comments of a couple non paying members....... In reviewing your history, you appear to be an expert on used boats sales and values in this country, as you enlighten many owners/sellers that their listings are inaccurately priced. Just a couple examples below: Where did that 35 from Jersey go??? Views: 2,592 Posted By stangkilr Is that your boat? Good luck trying to get $15k more than you paid for it a few months ago! 36 poker run for sale Views: 626 Posted By stangkilr Would have sold it already if it was. The people calling you probably have 36's for sale for more money. I was wondering if you were associated with NADA or BUC, since you have such knowledge on Cigarette's and other manufacturer's values? Have you ever driven a Cigarette Top Gun with 6's to test the design? I don't know if you've heard, but they actually perform pretty well in the rough stuff. You have smaller cat.....right? Bravos? Thanks again for the opinion, but I can handle my listing. Who knows, maybe it will sell overseas...... outside of your area of expertise:lolhit:. |
Off topic, sorry:
Hey Cigother, did you purchase the Tiger in your avatar? AWESOME f*ckin' boat! Does it still have the huge Teague power in it? I've seen it run several times when it was in So. Cal. Love the dual paint scheme. |

That thing is like riding around with your middle finger up! I think you are way off track on your pricing RAF |

Thanks for the compliments. It will make a great boat for someone very soon.
Hey Tank, yes the Tiger made it over to New Orleans. It now has new Whipple charged Teague Engines with Big Tubes, 6 1/2 tails, etc. I'm looking forward to some more seat time, but so far it's a cool ride :drink: |
Cig other not low balling or stone squeezing but you know my budget. Thanks for throwing he boat out here sweet ride

Robert, The owner of the yellow 94 TG that this thread was started over is a personal friend of mine. He is not really active on OSO hence the reason he hasn't chimed in. I have known him for years and can tell you he is one of the most upstanding people you will ever meet and as honest as the day is long. As for his boat, it's meticulous!!! Everyone claims to be a fanatic with the care and upkeep of their boat and we know how that usually turns out..:(. Not the case here, Robert cuts no corners.. PERIOD.. When there was a issue with one cylinder head the boat went to chief and had all four gone through or replaced. When it was time to service the drives, both came off and were sent to Konrad, I could go on and on but suffice to say if your looking for a really nice TG that really is what he says it is and want a smooth transaction give him a call. He's driving down to stay at my house tomorrow night as we are going to the boat show saturday, if you can't reach him drop me a PM and I'll make sure he gets it
Paul |
