Either Sea-Dated or SKRAMER tried it at one point. I think it cost them a bunch of money with no real gain. I'm sure they will chime in.

Ditto, wasn't Dated but someone tried, researched or something a couple years ago.

Skramer put shorties on with little to gain if I recall, but I don' know of any that tried boxes. Keep in mind the Cafe has no notch in the transom.

Yep - BLee corrected me on that a couple years ago. I thought none had notches be a couple did. He had a pic of one of them; I think it is buried in an SOS thread if that site is still alive.

Like others said, SKramer messed with it and I don't think he had big results from it.

Here is his thread on the shorties.

I think there was only one or maybe two. The one I have seen was the 007 boat, the one with the zebra stripe paint job. The story is that they did porpoise really bad. My advice as a former Cafe owner is to call Brett at BBlades and let him know what you have and he can set up hte props for how you want the boat to ride as well as picking up 2-3mph which is a hole lot cheaper then boxes.

100% agree with that especially after all the work I just went through to take a pair off!
