30 Mystique Info:

I am looking at a sweet 2002 Mystique.
Any info you guys have regarding handling, speeds, or other issues regarding this model, please let me know.
It has twin 500hpefi's with XR drives, no step, no notch.
Thanks for the info.

Boattest.com tested a twin step version with 496ho's. Their top speed wasn't very good but it was real rough and they never get much out of boats. It's heavy, like 7800 lbs and I hear that there isn't much room on the cockpit.

There is a thread on here about them. Raymondsboats.com has a real nice 2000 35 for sale with 500's. They have had it a while and might be willing to make a deal. They also have a 30 with 377 scorps.

Thanks for the reply (I'm obviously at home, using wifes puter:)
I boat mostly on small lakes with trips as much as possible to LOTO and soon Grand Lake, possibly more. I don't see too much rough water at all, other than 6' boat wakes at LOTO (no sh*t...really)
It is a heavy boat with lotsw of power, and I was told it would run low 80's by a reliable source.

I heard some of the early Mystique's had a problem with porpoising. (SP?) If you ever see the old Cigarette TV commerical they run duringhte boat races you will see what I mean!

Intrested in a 2001 Playboy with 500 EFI's?

You can buy a 35 for not much more!

Although I would love a 35, I boat a lot on a really small lake that is close to me. A 35 would probably be too big for that lake.:(

30 Mystique

I had a 2000 30 Mystique w/ 500efi's. It ran great but it did require a lot of trim, otherwise it would porpoise. They have removed the notch and no more problems. Mine would run 80 plus no problems. The new stepped ones are about 7 mph faster.
Overall it's a real nice boat, nothing compaires to it in it's size.
There is a big difference in price when you go to the 35.

If you boat on a small lake and the conditions aren't rough I would look at somthing else - Cigarette's are rough water boats and it seems the Cigarette would be over kill.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

AC: Although I agree with you, I do go to LOTO quite a bit. A 35 is getting to be too small there.
I guess I need two boats!!LOL:D
