Throttle Hitting?
Does anyone else's throttles touch your drive/trim controls at WOT?

My Lathems don't. They're awfully close, but they don't touch.

Now that I think about it. It was my knuckles that would hit the trim buttons not the throttles.

Figured out why mine has an issue...
Sunday, I was having fun pounding through 4 footers and adjusted the drive trim to around "3" at about 50mph. Next thing I know, the boat starts freaking out - bouncing around. I look down and saw the port drive trim was buried! It wouldn't respond when I tried to bring it back in. Backed off the throttles to get control. The circuit breaker tripped as the switch stuck. Tonight, I went to pull the switch and figure out why it stuck. There is a 1/3 inch spacer behind the trim switch plate, which explains why my throttles hit it. I noticed it was added to keep the switches from hitting the trim indicator cables right behind it. It must have been done by Lip Ship when they redid the dash (&more) in 2000. Time for heads up indicators so I can use the trim indicator space to flush mount my Garmin.... |
