For a couple years Cig sold the Tiger with the original step bottom that could be ordered with XR's and smaller power and the 42X was reserved for bigger power. Then they went away with the original step design and only built the 42X because it works basically with any set up. ;) |

It was built before they named them 42x's. Right at the time they were changing factories. There's a handful of 42's that arent dubbed tigers or 42X's that were built in the 03/04 era before cigarette officially changed the name of the 42 from the Tiger to the 42X. Some people call them 42x's but you won't see "42X" anywhere on the boat like the ones built later. A few of the 42's built around this time had the old bottom as well.
