New lift
 

Just got a Sunstream 10k lb over the weekend. Very pleased, nice quality.

10k lbs! That sounds like more than enough!

Is it tough to get the boat lined up? Sure looks stable!

Thanks, It's hydraulic, w/12v deep cycle battery. No problem lining up as its a few feet under the boat when in the down position. Just pull up to the dock to where I would have tied up, hit the remote and up you go.

It's a nice stress relief as I was always worried about how long I left the boat in the water.

I have been looking at a used one of these but I wondered how it would work on a very soft, muddy bottom. Whst kind of surface does your sit on....soft, rocky, ?

Thats really something. How is it planted on the bottom. Very nice Kurt! are the bunks conformed to the bottom steps? looks like a quality set up!

Thanks guys:thankyouthankyou:Yahoo! The lift has end beams about 12' wide with 15" X 15" feet . The river bottom is clay, it settled in a few inches and the installer came back 4 days later to re-level it. Has not moved since. Softer bottoms might require longer legs.

As for the steps, I was planning on fabricating new bunks but not sure now, the beams are made to conform to the hull, with the angle of the steps, it fit quite flat on the thick rubber covered bunks.

Christian, you must have bought that Donzi St Tropez on LI Craigs! Cool boat, a buddy had one for years, cool boat!

Do they put zincs on the lift?

I'm not sure if that's an option but have seen them in salt water, No need here as it's fresh water with no electrical current anywhere.
