Spoke with the owner yesterday because my Dad is looking for a unique project to put in a boat show next June.

Owner said it was a 24' Cigarette that he bought new 30+ years ago. The freeboard was too low so he "added taller sides made from plywood and glass" and swapped it over to an outboard..

Wasn't expecting to hear it was a Cig.. I asked him how it was titled and he said they made him title it as a "homemade". He went on and on about how he had it salmon fishing in the Atlantic for the last 30 years and rides better than anything..

Those are the only pics he has of it but figured you cig guys would like seein it.. :lolhit:

I really doubt this is a 24 Cigarette. The strake lines are all wrong.

TexomaPowerboater 06-20-2012 01:44 PM

Add says its a 21ft hull.

POWERPLAY J 06-20-2012 01:49 PM

Wtf???????

Holy Smokes 06-20-2012 02:20 PM

One person's use of the term "Cigarette" versus most folks around this site can be quite different.

Ya, Its like every sportbike being called a Ninja.. He said he "picked it up from Cigarette over 30 years ago".. But maybe it was just at a cig dealership or something..

either way, gag!

SKRAMER 06-22-2012 07:03 AM

Damn!!

Airpacker 06-22-2012 07:41 AM

I'd be thinking a 24 Cig would crush that ****ty little trailer.

Correct, NOT a CIG 24 hull, doesn't look like a 20/21 CIG hull either.

Fenderjack 06-25-2012 12:56 PM

I agree, nothing about it looks cig. But its def unique.

If he bought it new 30 years ago from cigarette, wouldn't it have a HIN# CRT and not a homemade HIN?

That's what I asked him too. He said the title had gotten lost over the years and in MA they do a hull inspection before reissuing titles. Since the boat had gone through a "conversion" and 40% of the boat had been modified, it was retitled as a homemade..

Or something to that extent, all he wanted to talk about was how great it handled and how nice the trailer was and when I was coming with cash.. lol

HTRDLNCN 06-26-2012 10:59 AM

seeing how small the trailer is I dont even think it was originally a 21ft boat, maybe now with all the extra crap up front.

Could it be a long lost Fountain back when he was trying different beaks?

:D
