Cigarette 38 Tg Re Power
 
Would like to get some input, we are re powering a 1994 Cigarette 38 Top Gun,Had Hp 525 Efis (550 Hp) With

Bravo Xrs .We are adding 2 x 700hp engines and keeping the bravos xr,The boat ran 75 Mph with the 525s with 28

pitch 4 blade Bravo Props ..,,,( Would like to hear from experience which props would be the best and fastest Cleavers,5 blades,

6 blades,Bravos and also opinion on prop pitch 30,31,32,34, lab ? )


P.S. What would be the speed gain ?

Speed will be approx. 85mph. The XR's won't live for ever with that power especially if they are blower motors. I would run 4 blade props. 5's and 6's will give to much stern lift and will be even harder on the drives.

Sell your xr's while they are still together and buy better drives. It will be cheaper in the long run

Thanks for the input ,The engine will have Hp 675, Normally aspirated.., The bravo drives should hold up, taking care of them

Im thinking on going with bravo 1 four blade 31 lab

my friends t/s with 700's eats xr's for breakfast. spend the money on imco's or teagues now it will save you the money in the long run. your xr's are worth a good buck now but not when you grenade them! just my .02. anyway got any pics of the gun??

I upgraded my drives to new IMCO SCX's I just did the uppers my lowers are both fresh anyways but it saves you a couple of bucks. The XR uppers will sell pretty fast too. A good price for the XR's is $4500-$5,000. I agree it is not a matter of if you will blow the XR it is when.

I have some 31 P bravos 4 blades that have been labbed that need work but could sell to you and you could send them to Bblades.
