20' Weight

I know they will vary not due to power, drive, year model, ect..ect..ect.. but what do most of the older 20's come in at weight wise ?? obviously just looking for a ball park idea.. I've searched around a little, but I know quite a few of you guys either have one, are having one redone, or had one, so why not just ask the experianced..;) I'm guessing in the 3,500 range dry, but I may be Way off ??

Thanks, Scott

I want to say that way back when, my '76 was listed in the brochures and paperwork as stock at 2,450 with the 280/TRS. However, when I redid the boat in the late 80's, I believe I found it was really more like 2,800. That was 20 something years ago, so my mind might be fading, but I think your estimate is just a little high.

I don't know the exact weight, but I remember being on my Donzi anchored in the river when my buddy Ed Malcolm came by with his 1976 20 & gave me a test ride. A beautiful, solid, soft riding powerboat that was! It effortlessly cut through the powerboat wakes on the river. Impressive!

Thanks so much guys !!!

Yeah a bit lighter than I expected, wich is good with me ;-)... I was asking for my old man, He sold his 271 formula a couple months ago to a great guy in OH.. He's Always traded around on boats and for the past 20 orso yrs always had at least two.. And despite the very reason for getting rid of it was mainly to go down to 1 boat instead of two, he has the itch & his Eye on one, but who knows... haha !!

Dale, good to hear ya chime in dude.. Hope you & your wife are doing well !!! and hope that 20 of yours is as well.. since I have a clue as to the answer of my question, I'll derail my own thread & ask how yours is doing these days ? Hopefully looking sharp and been on the water ??

It has been a slow go due to a job change. Bob Mishko just finished the engine. Hope to have the project finished by spring. Thanks for asking.
