gofasts with outboards are pretty common in the Caribbean ,, not many mechanics that know how to keep specialty motors like 575s running out in the islands,not to mention outboards are designed for salt water. Even in Miami Id say a good portion of sport boats are outboard conversions.

The guys in Martinique are pretty inventive. Look at the transom on this PowerPlay
