Good luck with her.

Congrats, I thought that boat would make a nice project. Glad someone here got it!
-Loved my '89 'Gun. The ride was incredible. -Those 420's really wake up with some 671's!!! Good luck, Kurt |
Thank yall for the encouragement. i'm going to start a thread in the rebuild section when i get started on it. Be prepared for some questions and need for instruction as a lot of you have been here many times. For now im just want her on the water so im going with slightly over stock rebuild, maybe 500 hp or so. When im happy with the rest of the boat i'll start adding HP. Happy to be part of the family .

Looking forward to the restoration thread. Mind sharing about what you paid?

Congrats on the Gun and welcome to the CIGARETTE club! BTW....420's?? Thats an old heavy boat! I bet it's on the slower side 55-60's? I'd put some BIG BLOWER MOTORS in!!!!:evilb: |

I was looking for a 35 and found a 38 TG. Definitely not complaining. It's an 89 and needs a lot of work, but it was within my budget and I've got more time than money. I will try to post pics as I redo things. So far it needs new interior, a transom, both motors rebuilt, and drives freshened up. I am very excited about it, and am looking forward to the rebuild. And I'm dreaming about the day I get to see her on the water!

How fast would those stock 420's push WetBowtie's gun?

My guess is 60-62. The '89 has no notch in the transom and the x dimension for the TRS is conservatively low

Congrats!
