46' Cigarette

Got a new project in at A&A Marine....1993 46' Rough Rider, pretty neat boat so I thought I'd share it with some Cigarette fans. Has triple Teague 725's with bravo drives. Doing a bunch of different engine, cooling, electrical and fuel system work. Will get some videos of her running once we splash her.

EXACTLYYY!!! Rockys18: Its actually a wrap, pretty wild. I'm not a fan of the triple small power bravo setup.. Would like to rig it with some 6 drives with twin big blower motors but is what it is. |
Didn't that boat used to be for sale with big graphics down the side - can't remember what it said but it was on a 4 axle trailer..... I've got a picture somewhere.
|
Used to be called ruthless
|
does that have a bow thruster?
|
Ruthless - That's it.....
|
yes, used to be "ruthless"....and yes it does have a bow thruster
|
That wrap looks like it should be on a 42.

Very cool boat for someone like me that wants a decent cabin, but loves having a "1" on the side..........
How fast is that boat with the triple 725's? 80? |
Captain claims 90's..it just came from the west coast (Sarasota I believe) and sat for a few months so everybody knows the problems associated with powerboats when they sit. Very neat boat, they will be doing the poker run circuit with the boat this coming season. Also have a 78 Cig 28' with twin 292's for a project we are restoring as well, ill post pics later.

Very nice wrap, the engine bay looks cramped.

It's ridiculous, took us all day just to pull plugs, pull a header, and pull a starter on the starboard engine. |
Do you know the exact weight on it ? I cant beleve this boat is light, but man that looks like fun...
|
15,000

That's one of the original RR's. That one and the black one were the first ones. Cool project. GREAT cabin!
What's the plan for power? What all are you guys going to do to it? Can't wait to see how it comes along. |
Staying with the triple Teagues. We were originally going to just fire them up and get em cranking but two starters are shot and two headers leaked so we removed all the headers to be re-welded along with new starters and re-doing the whole battery setup along with a bunch of crap wire someone did while re-rigging. Also have some drive issues the drives wouldn't trim any so we had to pull all the trim pistons and are diagnosing from there.
|
How much head room does that thing have??
More than my cafe?? |

wrap is staying, and the headroom is about 4 1/2' give or take a few.

motors are coming out!!!

Wave crusher is an understatement. I ran the old Florida marlins 46' with tired Hawk 1000's and 6's years back, probably 1996 or so. We had her humming at 90+ in 4-6 lake erie slop and hit 106 behind the break wall in Cleveland. i bet the motors were only making 800HP at best as oil was pouring out the breathers. Baot hasn't seen light of day since then. I wish I had the coin to pick her up if she ever came up for sale.

What's the story? Owned by the Fl Marlins? And where's it been sitting all these years and why? Inquiring minds want to know. :D |

Did that have a US Flag paint on it back then? Is the boat still in Ohio? |
Story goes that the Florida Marlins owner bought it for his son. Boat is still in ohio. Havent seen it in a couple years. Craig Barrie told me they hit 117mph testing. Bad ass rigs. Ill check for pics
