New Cig/AMG Top Gun
"The latest collaboration between Cigarette and Mercedes AMG has produced a technology concept where a 38 Top Gun has been outfitted with a 2220 HP all electric powertrain."
-via cigarette racing facebook page I wonder how much power this thing is putting out compared to the 700's or 525's?? http://imageshack.us/a/img145/8140/8...4809792713.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://imageshack.us/a/img825/9565/8...0476459820.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://imageshack.us/a/img189/687/85...9143125610.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://imageshack.us/a/img69/6904/11...1431264487.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us |
525 = 525
700= 700 2200=2200 Thats how much in comparison. Until your ass gets hot on the black seats...or the batteries run out... |
So twin 1100s? Should do over 100!

The best benefit of the electric is you get max torque at all RPM (2213 lb ft total). On Cig's site they say top speed is 160 kmh, so 100 MPH. Kina slow given the power. And if my math is right you better not go too far from a marina because that sucker is going to need to be plugged in often. |
Would be really trick if it had replaceable batteries. Batts going low, pull into marina, they remove the battery packs, install some charged replacements & you are off again.
i wonder how many people will be certified to troubleshoot that system when it developes issues. |
Want!
No oil, no fuel system, no carbs, ETC ETC.. so simple! |
Neat concept, first thought is that speed is probably dictated by the weight of all those batteries, motors, wires etc. What I am really curious about is RANGE.

2200 I believe is total power, so you are talking 1100 each.

The dry weight might look heavy for this boat, but it doesn't haul 200 plus gallons of gas around all the time.
|
I heard 20min run time

yeah doesn't suck! :lolhit: |
Hope everything in there is water tight!

If I wanted Quiet, I would get a Sailboat.
|
I'd like to see the risk analysis that was done on the electrical installation and subsequent fire suppression system design.

It's not how fast you go, it how long you go fast. That was the Cigarette mantra a few years ago. Not to long here.
|
I asked some questions while I was there at the Boat Show. They said this boat will run 70mph for 2 hours and charges in 2 hours with 440 volts....
So I would image running wide open would be 35-45 minutes. |
Blee and I were talking to a guy at the booth and he said it went 110mph but is capable of 118mph and at that speed it will only for 58 seconds! Met the guy that built the motors for both the cig and benz and guys a bad azz!! benz will run for 3hrs or 300 miles
|
That's what Bud Lorrow told me, Blee and Parnell. He said they don't plan on selling any but if someone wanted it they obviously would. Just wanted to prove it can be done and they nailed it!
