Looking for advice on this TG
http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o50470-en.html
Im considering this boat. Its a long trip away for me just to go see so Im looking for any advice or opinions from members who know it. It woud be a huge upgrade for me but im looking for a solid boat that will run 70's if I want but really 55-60 is about all i do day to day. (So Cal Ocean). |
This might do low 70's but for sure will do what you want in cruise speed. I had a straight bottom 38 Cig and it just plowed through the SoCal swell. This boat looks awesome... really nice looking boat.
Only down side I see is the steel trailer. Dipping in the salt...fun but the trailer will not look this good in a year. Have a local OSO go by and do a once over.... its well worth the second/independent opinion. |
I saw this boat last summer, it is in very good condition. The upgrade work of the cockpit and paint work make this look better than when it was originally built.
I think you will be pleased with the condition but everyone has a different view on condition. If you are serious and really want to see it for yourself the air fare cost is really a drop in the bucket when you look at the purchase price. There are others on OSO that have seen this boat so you should be able to get multiple views on this boats condition. |
When Rudy bought the boat it was in very good condition and he has made upgrades to it every year. The paint job turned out way good.
As far as speed goes. It runs 26 bravo ones and spins them to 5000 rpm and 72-73 mph. It cruises at 50 real comfortable. Heres a running shot about mid way in the video. He is probably running close to 70 as we go past. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXvDA8sRkWc I don't think this boat will be for sale long, once somebody comes and looks at it. |
I'd leave some money off the table when you make an offer to give you room to upgrade the cockpit - that black dates it somewhat - UNLESS of course you like that look which many do!!

I've seen this boat in person many times. Sweet ride! It needs nothing. Rudy is the type of guy who keeps all his chit clean and in perfect working order. The new paint turned out great. I started a project a year ago - I'd be all over this if I hadn't.
