Flat deck restoration?

After seeing MrCig and other guys on here 38 flattys I just can't help thinking how damn classic these things are. Just so nice. And seeing another guy on here's flat deck in the classifieds 'Night works' got me thinking how nice it would be to do a restoration on one and update the interior.

Granted they won't run without frightening power and drive upgrade but who cares I guarentee they ride better than any modern boat. They have a nicer line then the current ones I think.

And you could replace the race fairing with a glass wind screen? Has anyone ever seen this? Any pics? Remember seeing one on here named adrenalon a few years back super cool.

I agree, I love old classics that are nice, as far as speed and ride, your right, not fast unless you have big power, but unless you been in one, the ride is too amazing to argue, I think my Mistress rides better then any 35 ft range boat I ever been on...

I hear ya, the old Ciggie are timless classics that work very well. Here's a sweet 38 that looks pretty clean. http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o44742-en.html

As mentioned, it will never be a lake burner but a pair of 500EFI take-outs would make for a fun and reliable ride.

The way cig. put in the cabin ceiling and side panels it is super easy to upgrade.

I like them too. Kvogt's flat deck with the Arnesons is one of my favorite old school redo's.

Nothing like an Old School Cig... I love mine and would not want to be in rough waterin anything else.

Sonny like the Nike ad says " just do it " . Love mine and looking forward to getting her wet soon . They are great old boats both for looks and handling . I have never been a fan of step bottoms , they may be faster but these straight bottom hulls offer up very few surprises when it comes to calm and ruff water handling. Just my opinion .

Wow great boat perfect set up stagger with a pleasure cockpit . I think that would make a cool boat to own. Given the market place it might take a while to see that kind of money , not that it isn't all that , but you can buy a lot og boat today for 150k .
