Sell it to an acquaintance very cheap then buy it back.

Take it apart into a bazillion pieces..... Take pictures of the mess.... Go into court and demand that she just pays you half of what it's worth and take the boat with her!! It will work, dont ask me how I know
My current wife already knows I will cut the damn thing in half with a chain saw if she pulls that crap :eekdrop: |
A few years ago i was in the same situation with my Scarab...

Thanks guys, First time I have laughed in weeks.
|
My ex tried taking mine in court. I ended up with house and boat. It pays to have a good lawyer... Chin up...
|
+1 Chin up brutha.
My Ex, in court, asked for every other weekend "visitation" with my fuggin boat. Judge laughed her out of the room. I think she was tired of seeing the pix of me stacking cheerleader kitty on board like cord wood. |

Reason # 874 to not get married
|
Couple things to think about before you sell...1. is the boat in her name as well? reason is, if it's only in your name it is harder for her to go after it, you have the defense of "she didn't want anything to do with it, now it's only out of spite"
if there is a loan is her name on that? it shows that she had no intent to pay or have anything to do with it, even though you pay for it with "marital" money it looks better for you. Marital assests goes both ways, if there is something she is extremely attached to, you can use the boat as bargaining leverage. |
get some low trade in-value,on paper,,than offer her half,,,pull a coulple spark plugs out might lower it more
|
Oh man.... good luck to ya hope it all works out that SUX :eekdrop:
|
I will give you $50 bucks for it. when its final, I will give you the boat back free and clear, with a full tank of gas even!!!!
|

Yeah, but would you cut it in half lengthwise or width wise? That would make a bit of difference.....

Pay for a d*mn good lawyer or pay even more $$$ to your EX!
|
I am on the keep it side - she has property that she wants to keep - jewelry, car, etc. - the boat is a good bargaining chip. Plus - most if the free world has mo clue what the true value of the boat is - they will probably follow NADA. The best advice is DO NOT DO ANYTHING OUT OF GUILT! Give no concessions - you can feel guilty later.

your lucky your not in Canada..... she would have the house car boat kids and a living with someone else making 150K a year
while you struggle to pay her support because she's the poor wife.... the laws are not on the man's side up here:angry-smiley-038: |

My current wife already knows I will cut the damn thing in half with a chain saw if she pulls that crap! My wife knows my wacko ass would destroy the TG before I let her have it. As Rudd said, not like she has ever lifted a finger when I'm working on that *****. So, I'll be damned if she would take my boat and enjoy it with some other hardleg. I'm one vengeful, spiteful mo-fo!!! LOL!!! |
I say let her have it and take the house and then as soon as that b-otch puts it in the water go down there and pull the drain plug and watch it sink..... I was at kelleys island two years ago and I went down to the dock and ended up helping this lady get ready to leave with her kids. as we untied her she asked us to push her out because she didn't know how to get it out and turned around and that she got the boat in the divorce.
|
Yeah NADA sucks on value so make them use that...you should be at around $56K.
Also im not getting divorced but having her name first on the Boat cause i was deep into my house when we hooked up put a huge strain on our marrige.... Mistake #2 never get married. |
Ha thanks for the NADA tip. I am going through it myself right now. Since we used NADA to value all the cars and motorcycles I would assume they will have to accept it for the boat.
I have been paying for that bioch and her weasel boyfriend to live in my house for the last 2 years. A little payback on the boat is justified. The day she knows me and my new first mate are on the boat will be sweet justice. Trial date in october can't come soon enough!! |
One thing to think about is the insurance policy. Careful if you have an "agreed value" policy, this is normally higher than the boat is worth. Smart lawyers will say that is value you placed on the boat, so this should be the standard not NADA. If so it is now time to change to the regular boat value (NADA).

Smart lawyers also investigate "social media", so I would give some thought to deleting this thread in case she knows you have an OSO account.
|
That's the best advice right there
