Help with 1980's Mercury external hydraulic steering
 

I have purchased an 1980`s style Mercury external hydraulic steering set up for a twin TRS drive from an OSO member.
It came off of a `80s style TRS twin set up but the fellow did not have the measurements from the side of the gimble housing to the side of the hydraulic ram bracket that bolts to the stern as another hydraulic system had already been installed.
I will be mounting the external steering between the TRS drives and I understand that they have to be mounted parallel to the crank centre line.
If anyone has the measurements from the side of the gimble housing to the edge of the hydraulic steering ram bracket for this old style Merc external hydraulic steering, I would really appreciate their help..

Don't know if this will help. These motors are on 35" Centers

The rams are in the same spot when I had TRS drives 35" Centers also

Yes that is what I am looking for. My drives are 34.5 inches centre to centre,
When you are near your boat sometime, would you be able to get the measurement from the side of the gimble housing to the inside of the Old Merc hydraulic cylinder bracket that bolts onto the transom.
Also wonder if you are using a hydraulic helm with the old style Merc hydraulic cylinders or will they work with them.

Thanks for the reply but I need the measurement from the gimble housing to the inside of the transom bracket as mine will be mounted similar to yours.
My centres are 34.5 inches.

I can get that but it will be a few weeks before I get to the boat storage building.
