Depth Finder

I was playing around last year trying to get this digital depth finder to work, has the in the hull glue down transponder. Never had any sucess. I tried placing it in a bag of water like they recommend and moving it around but it never worked that well, the reading would go in and out. I was wondering what you guys are using and best location.

I install one of these in my Pantera and it worked good.

Was thinking about trying it in my Cig as well. Wonder if the bottom of the Pantera and the Mistress is about the same thickness?

I used a gob of clear silicone to temporarily mount it and it worked great for a year so far .. Ive tried the bag of water without success.
Location is left side where you see the Red battery cable .
