First Bullet Question - Head
Yesterday I went through and got the water working, but I'm trying to figure out the settings on the different valves under the couch. I know it can go overboard (i know illegal, so not using) or to the holding tank. I've got 2 yellow valves, one is up for closed which Im assuming would be the waste dump. The other is open which Im assuming is the water pickup to fill the head. At the macerator is the y valve and I am not sure whether it should be set to face to the inside of the cabin or selected to face the outer hull (using my best to explain position). Can anyone explain the head setup so I make sure its set correctly to use the holding tank? The guy I bought it from never used the head so he isn't sure what the settings are.

in my top gun the big line is the waste water out. the small line is the fresh water in for the flush.
anything else related to "Head" your boat is equipped with "The Chair" there should be no questions asked with that |
haha no questions about that one man
I have 2 lines in/out for the fresh in/wast out then a y valve at teh macerator that selects whether to go to the outside dump or the holding tank. Thats what I'm trying to figure out which is which |
When in doubt, take the valve out and look inside at the positions. Then MARK on the valve which is what.

Thats a nice option to have .. a bathroom, wish I had one.

I just have to figure out how it works lol... Confusing looking at the plumbing setup and I'm going to probably change out all the lines since the macerator is showing signs of dying and the water pump hasn't picked up the outside water. Makes it easier to just replace with new.. Figures the only issues I'm having are the head lol... but when it sits for years with no use, it is what it is lol\
I'm hoping one of the bullet guys knows how the plumbing setup works and can fill me in.. I look at the lines and am confused, but think I'm overthinking things. Im not seeing the technical aspect behind how its rigged and want to understand the system. |
That sounds like it has been "rigged".
The typical system has two buttons in the head. The water flow is as follows: Open the valve on the smaller line which is the water intake. When you push the button marked "push to flush" water is simultaneously pulled into the toilet and pumped out of the toilet into the holding tank. Then, when you are ready to pump overboard you open e larger valve and push the other button. Which simply evacuates the holding tank. What I am saying is that there traditionally is no option to pump it anywhere other than into the tank and then overboard from tehere |
I might have the plumbing diagram at work if you'd like it?

From what I've found it has the tank option, or directly overboard option with the Y valve. I have found a couple other threads on here about it too
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/c...et-levers.html I'll be replacing everything anyway just because its all original. Nothing has been rigged or modified. I'm just the type of person that wants to understand a system before meddling with it. If you have the diagram for the bullet, I'd appreciate it... I'll PM you my email address. |

Yea, its an odd setup. Looks like both buttons flush it to the tank based off the post. If I can find the bullet diagram as it def looks like a different setup than yours. I could always just replace the pumps, lines and tanks making sure I hook everything back up to the same spot haha..

Note to Self----Go to swim platform and PEE!! problem solved

I have the same issues I can't figure the pump out. I have two buttons in the head one higher then the other with no markings on them. Of course when I push either nothing happens so I am lost also but will have to check motor to see if it is bad or not. In the middle of a restore and batteries are out so I will have bide my time, but would love some ideas on what is what also. 1988 bullet.

I figured it out.. I can send you the diagram with the instructions on how the setup works. One button is the water pump and the other is the macerator. Both are 12V so make sure they are getting power. If not, then need to get new pumps. I just picked up the Jabsco 2.9 for the water, a Jabsco Y valve and macerator. I'm replacing everything in the system to start fresh. PM me your email address if you want the diagram.

They are very prone to the macerators rusting up and then blowing a fuse. For 200 bucks I'd buy both pumps and start with a known good baseline.

There is a long thread in here that OldSchool started years ago. "bullet head redo" or something like that. It has a ton of info in it.
|
It should be on the first page. I commented in it a few days ago to push it forward so I could find it easily. Im good to go now, now that I have the plumbing layout and understand how Cig used a vacuum loop for the holding tank. Like I said before, I just want to understand what I'm replacing before I do it lol.. Makes more sense to what I'm doing.:D
