90 MPH Top Gun

Are there any 90 MPH's out there with the red/white paint scheme?

thisistank 08-16-2014 02:19 AM

In general or for sale? Yes in general. No for sale.

You could make the red/white one I am selling into a 90mph boat - that was my plan before I lost interest. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/boa/4620032161.html

Hey conquistador , were you selling the black and white 36 wide body cigarette . If so did it sell ?
Rick G.

SkaterMike82 08-16-2014 05:18 PM

They only made 5. Ours is not red/white but it's for sale and they're very rare. 4 in the states and 1 Europe. Ours is for sale and ready to deal as we need the space. $49kobo complete minus motors & trany but with ALL rigging ready for your motors. $33k without drives, transom assembly, steering, Below is the link with pics.

Hey Rick,
Yes, that was me with the 36' that you looked at for the other guy. It sold to a guy in Georgia. Bill

Hey Bill, I'm surprised you lost interest in the project .....I thought the 572's were ready to go in!

Pete,
I just lost interest in the whole dream. If I thought we would use it when completed, I would have followed through with the project. The reality is that it is too much boat for our use and someone else can enjoy it. I think I have it priced where it should sell quickly, but who knows. I'll hold on to the 572s for the time being as backups to my other boats.

That sucks, I really wanted that boat when you grabbed it, and now I'm not in a position to buy. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks. It will be a really nice ride for someone and I'm sorry you didn't get it a couple years ago..
This reminds me of when I bought a 454 Casull at a gun show - another gun that was too big for my needs.

Does it have to be a Gun? Café Maybe?

I happen to know of one and it could be for sale. I don't get to use her as much as I want to. Been up on Lake Michigan twice this year and thinking about PIB and Lake Cumberland P/R to finish out the year. I have picked up another interest and hate to but might let her go. She is in inside storage all covered up and ready to go. If your really serious let me know.

I am getting some interest in the Cigarette I am selling. One of the guys wanted to know if it has a painted hull bottom or gelcoat - it has both a gelcoat bottom of the hull and the deck is still gelcoat except for the blower engine cover which has been painted to match. The sides and transom are painted. Give me a call before it is gone or I change my mind. Bill

After talking to about 6 guys in the past few days, it looks like my Top Gun will be headed to Omaha, Nebraska.

Conquistador 09-07-2014 01:30 AM

My boat is back on the market after showing it today. The guy thought the Top Gun cabin would be larger for his wife who really wants a cabin cruiser - otherwise he would have bought it. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/boa/4620032161.html

Saw your boat in Key West a few years ago. Thing was insanely nice. Drew a lot of attention at the docks too.

While I have not gotten to see this "Doug boat," his prior boat, Mistress, was one of the absolute finest looking classic boats imaginable. He did much work and spent many dollars accomplishing that. Can't think this boat would be in any less condition. If you are serious about a 90 MPH, you need to check out his boat.

thedonz 09-12-2014 01:02 AM

Doug's boat is a rare find. If really serious about a 90 MPH model, do not let this opportunity pass you by, you will not have another. That boat is amazing.

MILD THUNDER 09-13-2014 08:11 AM

Dougs Top Gun, is my favorite old school Gun of all time. Just an awesome machine. It is the real deal.

are you sure it was that boat and not the 90 mph lookalike with the side by side, white sixes and psi blowers? it's usually there in front of the gallion, it too is a beautiful gun but not a real "90"

You know what? You're absolutely right. Now that you mentioned it, it was that boat. I saw your white drives and I thought it was the same boats, but it was a #6 boat. It was a few years ago and I may have been a little intoxicated :D

Still absolutely love your boat.

Doug 09-15-2014 12:01 PM

I've never been to Key West with my boat while I've had it but I know it was there when Ben owned it. I heard he had a truck following it through the keys with 55 gal drums of race fuel. Crazy lol. I've seen pictures of the side by side T/G with the 90MPH paint in Key West. Beautiful Boat. Believe it has made several trips there with the FPBC.
Thanks for the compliments on mine. It's really been a fun boat and with all the attention around the dock and on the water it's very cool.
I hate this time of year because in the next few weeks or so it will be time to winterize and put her up for the winter. Are days in Indiana now are in the mid 60's and a few nights in the 40's. Thinking about doing the Cincinnati to Louisville run for the last trip in a couple weeks. It's just over 200 miles round trip on the Ohio River. Hopefully the leaves will be turning and it will be a beautiful trip cruising the river with about 30 other boats making the trip.

that boat is just down right beautiful! the attention to detail is what i love. it's nice to see these older special pieces be restored and brought back to their glory. i would much rather walk around the poker run village in key west looking at these boats than the new ones any day of the week. i love looking for the details that people put into their boats, it shows the true passion and love for them. i know the work and money that goes into them, i've been there and done that lol.

looks like the ''NEXT'' boat ,,he had white drives staggered #6's i thought..I know it was staggered just not sure about the drives.. old owner owned a steel company and had a freek accident and dies in his vehicle,,then i never saw the boat again..rumors was 1500 hp a side and the boat went 119 mph..

Doug 09-16-2014 06:23 AM

Yes that was Ben's boat ( NEXT ) but it had #5's with box's back then and now. Tres had it going 113mph with 1150hp at Lake X. I think all the guys are talking 113 with 1150HP-1200HP and no one I've talked to has gone past that. Not bad to a flat bottom Cig.

that is,,yes the rumors are true about the truck and racing fuel..lol... also did the same thing on lake mi..Randy at powerbroker use to maintain the boat for ben..i didnot want to mention his name,,you either knew him or you didnt..do you remember Frankie's aka hollywood's 38 tg with hawk with na 700's..man back in the day i remember having to cut his head studs with a sawzall to get the heads off the engine's..salt water seized them to the studs....

offshoredrillin 09-16-2014 07:58 PM

Didnt the side by side with the white sixes have the drives stolen?

also the spider boat has been in the high one teens with cobras and stagger 6s.

Biggus 09-17-2014 04:03 AM

Did the spider staggered Gun ever sell? That boat is bad ass!

this is one of the cleanest cigarettes you will find! i know everyone says that about their boat but this one isn't mine, it's my little brothers boat lol. the boat just doesn't get used anymore having 3 kids under 3. just about everything on this boat has been replaced except for a complete repaint. however, the lettering, cig ovals, and silver stripes where all redone by guardo in miami. when the boat was first rerigged by grant's custom rigging the bill was just shy of 50k, the motors, 85k, interior, platform, all guages, aircraft switch panel, trailer completely redone etc etc etc. the boat was the 92 ft lauderdale boat show boat, kevlar as well. salt free!! fresh water its whole life. tim (88bullet) and i will be starting a side business together very shortly and my brother has asked for our help in selling his boat. if you have any question i can answer most all of them and tim will be posting more pictures shortly.
