hey foxhunter tag release & old cig owners question

Someone has said in other forums that the two central scoops at the bottom of my mistress transom are not water pickups... I thought they were?
assuming they is my best way to flush after saltwater use by sending a $hitload of fresh up those scoops when its on land? h
how do you guys flush if or after using in salt

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o59193-en.html
look in transom shot.

btw that is such a fantastic boat fox hunter,,, if i had the cash or you were selling a bit later down the track consider it sold such a classic an all time awesome rig. I love it

Those are water intakes, but you'll prob burn out your impeller trying to force water up them, put the hose in the sea strainer and start it to flush. And I 100% agree about fox hunter. Not a huge flat deck fan but if I could off my boat and come up with some$$$ I'd be on my way as well.

Lil Red Is Right. They Are Your Water Puck Ups. On The Flat Decks I Know Of They Are Plumbed With A Garden Hose Fitting At The Sea Stainer To Flush Or Winterize.

Sea strainers are right at rear bulkhead, they normally have the garden hose fittings coming up, right in front of engines, dont forget to shut off water intake valves at transom or hose water just runs out and you will burn up impeller...look at my pic, the yellow handle valves are where the water hose connection is...

This is how the flat decks I know of are plumbed. They come from the black water pick ups that are on either side of the bilge plug. Then they run to the strainer that has the garden hose fitting. Then to your sea water pump. Give me a call 708-935-9382

MrCIG 11-12-2014 06:38 PM

I see one of the strainers next to the towel it's hard to see but I can't see if the flush outs are still there

This looks like your strainer and is in the right location. I can't see the flush fittings with that aluminum plate there.

way2fast 11-25-2014 08:34 PM

Thanks guys. They definitely are strainers had a closer look but cant seem to find the hose fitting... They do have two butterfuly nuts on the top that are undoable..
also Ryan I just tried to call you no answer.

sonic700 11-26-2014 01:16 PM

Sorry about that. I am home for the rest of the week and weekend

way2fast 11-27-2014 01:28 AM

ham_r_down01 11-28-2014 11:07 AM

That's the strainer. Mine has a spigot and a cap for the flush on the upstream side I think. If the boat wasn't in storage I'd snap a couple pics.

Mine also has a spigot and cap on the t-stat housing as well. Not 100% sure about what that one does.

sonic700 11-29-2014 12:28 PM

I will take some good pics of mine tomorrow. ham_r_down01 is right. On mine there is a T fitting and ball valve on the inlet side. Bottom of T fitting has the 1-1/4 water supply line and the top of the T fitting has the valve and the garden hose adapter.
