Cafe Racer in North Miami

I ran across this ad:

http://www.powerboatlistings.com/view/35532

I value the information I gather as you guys discuss individual boats and their setups and history. I love the restorations as well. Feel free to discuss...

Thanks for sharing the knowledge, it is much appreciated,

sh

Saw that. It's sick. Time capsule.

That's no restore by the way. It's sat for ever. And it's the last year built of the cafés I'm pretty sure. Great price too.

snowhammer 04-22-2015 06:36 PM

Tank,
I'm not from So. Cal., sick means good looking boat? and time capsule means it's a classic? Just kidding. I'm no Cig expert, but I have been looking alot and following some threads, and this one sure seems cleaner than many out there with a nice graphics package, aka: sick and time capsule.

Thanks for the reply,

thisistank 04-22-2015 06:55 PM

Hahaha. Yea, it's very clean and well preserved. Better? :D

Most importantly is it's been at Johnny's shop all these years with his guys caring for it - since he's one of the most honest people in the industry it'd be easy to get a true assessment of the boat. My only concern would be sitting TOO long and having things rot. But it specifically addressed that in the ad.

I'd say it's by far on face value the best deal on a cafe on the market right now all things considered and assuming it does as well as it should in a survey and leak down

snowhammer 04-22-2015 06:58 PM

can you say: "itchy trigger finger"?

pm203 04-22-2015 07:19 PM

I like it. Update the interior and go boating!

242LS 04-22-2015 08:26 PM

Great looking boat with big power. Get it.

J-Bonz 04-22-2015 08:34 PM

After looking at the boat it looks like a sweet ride! The only thing I would do is find a bunch of chicks to put on it... :)

I don't want to derail, but what are the thoughts on the power/outdrive combo.

Nothing wrong with the power and drives, just buy it, play with it and don't sink any unnecessary money into and you'll have a lot of fun and won't lose a ton of cash. Keep it nice and it should still be worth 45 to 50k for several more years.

F-2 Speedy 04-23-2015 12:24 PM

Chief engiine's top notch, the ad doesnt specify drive type, XR's with IMCO or speed master lowers ?? dont think their #3's could be wrong, there's 50K worth of engine's in it and you get the rest for 8K, looks like a good buy

snowhammer 04-23-2015 01:23 PM

I just realized that this is how passions, or should I say addictions, start. I bring attention to a boat that caught my eye, ask opinions on said boat, and next thing you know - myself and a handful of guys with the same "addiction" are telling me to buy it! Note, my own voices are trying to convince me quite loudly. Thanks for all the input so far. I don't know that I'm in the market, but I do like learning!

thisistank 04-23-2015 02:09 PM

Drives should be fine as long as you don't hammer them out if the hole and are easy on them during flight and re-entry. ;) as far as power, get it leaked down and like I said, talk to Johnny and he'll give you the straight scoop with no BS.

Agree with Tim, I think the cafés have hit the bottom of the market and can't go any lower. Good time to buy because the prices are low and they should sustain for a while.

They belong on a houseboat. lol

Feverz29 04-23-2015 06:17 PM

I'm not sure I've seen a nicer older boat regardless of the make. Truly amazing.

thedonz 04-23-2015 06:21 PM

that's a great combination on that boat, should be a lot of fun...................except in Steve's hands....those drives wouldn't last long the way he likes to fly.......,lol

You have to try really hard to break a T.R.S. drive. And even then they are bullet proof!

sprink58 04-24-2015 10:30 AM

Seriously...a lot of boat for the money...and it's turn key !!!

4195 04-24-2015 11:52 AM

Ok someone needs to buy this thing. I want it!! I loved my Café, they are great looking and exceptional rough water boats. So..... who's going to get it? Where is Kreed? He must be do to buy another boat.

Didn't the listing price go up 10k from what it was listed for originally????

tim mccray 04-30-2015 01:00 PM

The more you guys talk about it on here, the higher the price goes. :)

BDiggity 04-30-2015 02:14 PM

i like to see the prices going up. makes me feel better about mine. :)

Frequency 04-30-2015 07:47 PM
