You guys live a good life and know how to do it right. The right boats ;) good friends and family and an epic destination. What more could you ask for ? Except maybe to not have to leave at some point! :D
The keys are my favorite destination. Love it down there. |
Man, I'd love to tag along on one of your trips sometime. Preferably when we are chest deep in snow up here!
|
Send your boat down this winter, ole bud!
|

That's what we need, if there's enough interest, let's do it. The Crystal River Florida Cigs will help out. |
The tiger should be ready in a couple weeks and ive never been to key west, im going there in august as my daughter is stationed in the coast guard ther aboard the Thetis, what dates in Nov and ill see if i can start working on it now, one of the pitfalls of being self employed...
|
I'd love to make it up to Gilbert's by boat. We spend a lot of time in the Keys in the winter but without a plotter tend to stick to the places we know how to get into easily. A plotter is on the "to get" list for this winter!

Those #6's are way back there in that forth shot. So cool... |
I've done that trip many times. Would love to do again!!!

Sounds like fun. Would love to do that trip..
|
Ok, all you Cigs interested, figure some dates out. Fario Blanco would be the place to dock and stay for more than 3-4 boats. They could handle15-20 easily. There is a new Hyatt there now. Plus protected docks. Lots of easy day trips to islamorada or Key West. The gallion key west could also handle a big group, but the day trips are limited.

Are we talking over the Worlds weekend in Nov?

How about the week of Thanksgiving? The wifes a teacher, makes it a little time restrictive.... or around Christmas? before/after?
|
I hope to send my Cig down for the winter. A run after November sometime sounds good to me.

FWIW chaps:
We had about 9 ATs running out of the the Westin in Cape Coral for a 4 day weekend this past March. http://www.westincapecoral.com/ http://www.tarponpoint.com/index.php/the-marina We took day trips to different locations, and returned each night to reserved slips, excellent facilities, and our trucks/trailers were all onsite. I love the boating in the Keys, but this was the first time I explored the West Coast of Florida in my boat. It was AWESOME. There are dozens of places you can go, and plenty of safe areas to boat in protected waters; especially in inclement weather. When you are in the keys, you are at the mercy of the weather, and the seas can get nasty on you real fast. Oh yeah, and the uber bonus: You don't have to deal with I-95!! IMHO, if you want to go boating in the Keys in November, just sign up for the Key West Poker Run with FLPowerboat.com. YES, it's expensive, but it's Key West, and it's worth it. Cape Coral in March 2015: https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...0a&oe=55F2CACB Also, a friend/fellow OSO member is looking into opening a boat concierge service in Cape Coral by this winter as well. More info will be posted if that comes to fruition. |

:drink: (Please don't anyone freak out. All of the aforementioned is in jest!!) |
Zero Patience's group runs to Key West for the races. You get to boat with all Cigarettes and dont have to pay $2,000 to the FPC! No brainer for me!!! Hell thats half of my condo bill paid lol.

Big thing is competing with fpc for rooms. My vote would be for later in the month after thanksgiving. Im not really ip for doing a competing thing, id rather do a soley cig thing.
Definitely a separate all Cig run would be in!! |
I am going to do Key West races and this Cigarette run if you put together a date!
|
We run to KW on Tuesday each year. That way we avoid the FPC group run and don't infringe on Stu and Jackies run.
|
Sounds good...what day do you boat back up...Thanks
|
We would be in for the november worlds on tuesday. i have done fpc run in the past and have no desire to pay that kind of money again lol. rooms are easy to get down there and by far the best week of the year in the keys in my opinion. we could get all the cigs together for the run out to the island on saturday as well, (my favorite part of race week).
