Default What Props Cafe Bravos

Curious as to what props guys with Cafe's are running with Bravo drives and what engine gear ratio altitude

My boat came with 3 blade 25' and suck you really have to nurse it up on plane the drives have to be tucked in tight and tabs down to 3 just barely give it throttle or it will blow them out but will still only pull 4500rpm

I only have to deal with them another month and I am pulling boat apart for some changes was thinking it would benefit from 4 blade Bravo I props I have had Fountains with Bravo I props and pull good with no blowing out issues, I did notice tail lift in my 35 Fountain with 34 pitch bravo props after 5800 rpm but not planning on that kind of power in the Cigarette

Any experience with Café and bravo drive would be much appreciated

496 MAG HO's on 1.5 bravo's, 87 Cafe with a higher than stock X dimension, 26 pitch bravo props. Slips the props a bit coming up on plane but planes very easily. Runs 67-68 on GPS right at 5000-5100.

My old setup had 28 pitch Bravo I props and you could not blow them out. The boat jumped on plane. 600+ Hp, 1.5 gear ratio at Lake of the Ozarks.

I have an 87 CR that I'm in the process of converting to Bravo XZs (if it gets done before I'm too old to drive it ). My HP is pretty mild (probably 450s), so right now, I'm going to run 24P Bravo 4 blades, but top end was not my main goal. Will post up how it works after it's back together.

I'm turning 28p on mine with 1.5 xr drives and am 73 at 5100 rpm with approximately 630 hp per side, but it takes me a while to get on plane.

It's running great! Saw salt water for the first time doing a poker run a couple of weeks ago. The good news is it picked up 3 mph in the salt. I was really surprised by that. It has been rock solid reliable the entire season, I haven't really had any significant issues. The motors should crack 200 hours in the next couple of weeks, and it is headed back down to Cape Cod for one more poker run before the end of the season. It looks a little different from when you owned it, but it gets quite a few compliments.
