The boat has standard bravos on it. I normally boat here in Kentucky on the lakes and the river, but I will pull it to several poker runs..
Didn't Carter38 have a 94 with blower motors and standard bravos at one time? Buck |

Yes he did. I'm pretty sure all his boats have been bravo boats. Send him a pm.

Agree with everyone here. Standard bravo's on a boat with blown 540's will go thru drives often. Our top gun with 500efi's bravo xr's have about 290 relatively trouble free hours. Last year lost a lower gear but that's been about it for issues. Any more than 500hp on bravo's is asking for trouble.
You have 3 options: buy a boat with less hp, accept the fact that you'll go thru drives, or buy a boat with big power / beefier drives. |
the single shaft will still limit you if you actually run it in any kind of water and run it hard, how do the SCX drives hold up on a place like a great lake? just curious I am not educated on them.....

My SCXs have 3 yrs of Shootouts Saturday now- trouble Free!!
Ok Not Great Lakes but I Abuse them and not worrying is worth $$$$$ |
Both Tim Mccray and i had them on our 38' top guns and we run big water out here and had zero issues

Having a boat like a Top Gun with blower motors and standard Bravos is like having a 25 year old girl friend with a big rack but you can't touch it. It's no fun. Why have all that boat and not be able to run it hard without the fear of a week out of the water and a hefty repair bill.
