Not sure yet, looking at a few things. But if it doesn't sell we are going to be running a lot this summer

That`s good to know Russ, mine has quite a hook, I`m hoping for your kind of results.
Ryan: http://bowkersfiberglass.com/directions.htm
Lots of custom stuff on Ryans boat , I`m sure if anyone takes a look at it the sale won`t be far away, good luck champ.

Martin did some work on our boat and we were very pleased. He was doing a lot of the powerquset bottoms at the time removing the hook

ICDEDPPL 01-29-2016 02:15 PM

TD Custom Dave likes him and I`ve read good things online.
Last TG he blueprinted the bottom and cut back the strakes and it gained 6mph.
That water breaks before the helm on mine, that hook is pushing the bow down quite a bit.
Hook needs to go!

Flat Deck Russ 01-29-2016 02:29 PM

Besides the hook, props, type and rotation plus your X will make huge difference on how you carry your bow.
One thing I'll say is don't throw money at that till you work out your hook..
I have always wanted to try on a set of boxes.

ICDEDPPL 01-29-2016 03:13 PM

I`m on boxes, even with bottom, tried both in and out rotation. Not saying it`s all the bottom but we`ll see.

That`s a lot of light shining through

sonic700 01-29-2016 03:51 PM

You need to keep the Reverse spoiler slowing you down so I can keep up. That is a bit of light

Flat Deck Russ 01-29-2016 03:59 PM

I sure have seen worse but that's not doing you any favors. Memory serves correct if your X is even then you raised it, maybe your lost some leverage on your bow.
I think when Mark put his Conrads on he played around with his X dimension. Possible he can advise what he found.

Current set up is even with bottom. I`ve played with spacers, props and switching drives around for 2 years. I like it this way the best.

Hey Dan I was just looking at your picture of the bottom hook . There is another way to eliminate the hook , do what I did put a 9 1/2 inch notch in the hull . Bet it will eliminate most of the problem and it's real easy to do . Lol.
RG.

ICDEDPPL 01-30-2016 09:36 PM

That`s great idea Rick, I`ll get me sawzall..

You guys forgot another flatty in town.

Thats a nice one Russ..

Rhythm and Blues 02-01-2016 08:33 PM

So did the Flat Decks pulled from a certain mold all have a hook or whats the story there or were they all from the same mold? Is it only something to be worried about if you believe it indicates a structural problem or if your trying to squeeze the last few mph out.. Probably creates some weird stern lift if severe enough..?

ICDEDPPL 02-01-2016 11:54 PM

Fiberglass shrinks, nothing to do with a mold. not uncommon for new boats to have bottom issues / hook. Also how the boat is supported on trailer makes a difference.
Some smaller boats have em built in on purpose to act like a tab.
Doesnt make too much of a difference below 70mph.

Rhythm and Blues 02-02-2016 12:37 AM

Understood, thanks for the insight.

That`s a lot of light shining through

fill it in with VE primer then block it flat repete yuntil its gone..then gel over it..thats a small hook compared to what i have worked out...i doubt it will make a differance...if your boat aint listing then i would not worrie about it..find higher rake degree props in got want to carrie nose more,,or raise the wet surface..

kvogt 02-02-2016 07:39 AM

Dan
It looks like the picture is taken outside the lifting strake. If so that should be out of the water at high speed.

ICDEDPPL 02-02-2016 08:45 AM

Measurement is about 5" up from the pickup. You can see the bottom trailer bunk (missing in pic)

Todd you should buy that just so I don't have to drive your boat when I am up there. Always good to have a emergency back up hot rod.

Throw your 575s in that would be a hoot.

Rhythm and Blues 02-16-2016 08:15 PM

Still trying to sniff up the right boat. Budget is between 40-50k... Whatcha got?

ICDEDPPL 02-16-2016 09:21 PM

I got a $120, 000+ Flat deck that`s worth $60K :lolhit:

Not associated with this boat at all, but you could be in a newer machine, by about 10 years in that price range. http://www.powerboatlistings.com/view/41014

Looks decent for short money. Bet you could make a quick deal on it. Top Gun Resale a little higher, bigger cabin.

Just a thought if it passed a survey and the sea trial. Could be sweet

Thanks I've seen it. The owner has been posting it everywhere. I dont want a blower boat. I'd prefer naturals. There are actually plenty of blown bbc strait bottom guns out there but after I see the power I pass them up..
I hear what your saying about looking at newer boats tho and reciently reached out to several sellers after increasing my budget. Feel free to pass along anything you run across. Appreciate the heads up!
