dock line size & fenders

What would be the right diameter size dock line for a 35' Cig? 1/2" , 5/8" ??.........Also, what type of fender to use and where to buy?............Thanks

1/2" or 5/8" will be ok depending on where you tie up and for how long. Seems like everybody uses the 8" x 20" Big B fenders with fleece fender covers.

I picked up these Dan-Fender's and am very happy with them.

I use 10x26 Big B. Work well.

What size dock lines are people using for a 38' Cigarette? Thanks for the help.

4 - 1/2" x 15' for the corners
4 - 1/2" x 25' for spring lines and wider slips
2 - 5/8" x 35' for hd spring lines

I also keep a few 3/8" x 15' for raft ups, lunch stops, etc. where there might be small cleats or no need to over secure the mooring.

A good recommendation Tom, I also keep a couple of 5/8” 50’s onboard for possible tow situations, or additional scope for a sea anchor or emergencies.

PS just read the post again, don’t need the 50’s at the dock. Duh!

I like the 5/8" lines, but some of the marinas we visit are not equipped to handle that size line, so we also have 1/2". Another issue is at a raft up, some boats just don't have a big enough cleat to tie off multiple lines - especially on the front. So we have both.

Thanks for the feedback. The cleats on the 38' TG are so skinny/small, which is much different than the Intrepid I'm used to. I wanted to get some new lines ordered before I head down to use the boat again.
