It will be up there at some point, just not sure about our annual 4th of July week. We travel for a month during that time frame, and spend a week at our place there. We are doing another couple's weekend the weekend after the 4th, so I may bring it there for that.

Wow! Beautiful

kreed 05-13-2016 06:52 AM

You got lucky finding a staggered Twin step 39 gun...... with Arensons to boot!!!!! Power?? Speed????

Relaxing 05-13-2016 07:01 AM

The best part to this story is, you seem happy with every buddy you dealt with from start to finish. That's not something you usually hear in the marine industry. Boat looks awesome. Thumbs up to all involved making it awesome.

VoodooRob 05-13-2016 07:14 AM

Really nice planning and craftsmanship on that Cig.. Theres something about a stagger in a top gun, just badass. Boat looks pretty well finished. Whats next a nice custom "Cigarette" trailer?

Not sure just yet.... I have a large list of wants, and smaller list of needs. Now that I am back running, I can take time to work out the next project or upgrade.

Running Sterlings with whipples. Haven't really pushed it just yet, but we were cruising comfortably around 75 to 80, while still getting a feel for surface drives. It still needs some tuning modifications via Mark Boos at Precision Marine Performance Engines.... whose shop is only about 20 minutes away. Will see after it is tuned.

The motors only have 35 hours on them, so I am rolling with them (not to mention I still need my kidney's for a few more years before I can sell one or both to buy new motors). We rolled it up to 85 at a tad over 4K RPM this past weekend. Still needs some tuning done, and it was my maiden voyage, so no need to kill anyone or myself just yet.

shepnic74 05-13-2016 11:33 AM

So is the wife over the fact you didn't get permission or are you still sleeping in your pickup truck? I bought an extra snowmobile we didn't need a couple years ago after my wife said no and that went over like a fart in church so I can't imagine the wrath that would rain down spending 100 + times what I did lol

Got Cigs 05-13-2016 11:43 AM

Wow! cool story and great pics. Thanks for sharing. Good luck with her. Beautiful!

Ehhh, there was a certain level of friction in the marriage for a while. Once she saw it in person, she was sold as well though. And letting her name it smoothed it over quite a bit, surprisingly??

jsand117 05-13-2016 05:15 PM

boat looks fantastic!! top notch work from all involved. good luck with it.

Very fortunate, one of the best in the Biz.

We saw it at Tickfaw. Boat looked awesome.

Quinlan 06-08-2016 05:47 PM

I hear you may be coming up for a few weeks. You bringing the new Ride?

Zero Patience 06-08-2016 08:06 PM

Beautiful boat, lucky guy.

Hey Scott. Not sure if it will be ready by the time we leave for Oklahoma. Dinged up the props during the Tickfaw and they are still at Hering. While the props were down, I had a whining sound from one of the whipples, so I had them sent in for rebuild as well (waiting on parts.. the story of my life). Will likely be rolling in the family cruiser at this rate. IF it is ready by the shootout, I may have it brought up for that weekend as we are hosting a couples weekend with some friends up there. If I see you out, I may come over, I'd look to look your ride over now that I know what I am looking at. I have a couple things I would like to compare for my reference.

Quinlan 06-09-2016 07:46 AM

NIce. We were tied up with Tommy and Mary this weekend. Turns out her brother and I go WAY back! I am talking about 1980 or before. Small Small World

Wow, that boat is Amazing! Nice work brentadkins!

I agree on the trailer upgrade. If you are not keeping it on a lift, you are going to want a trailer that is going to load a lot easier. At a minimum, a split bow stand upgrade will help a lot and be better on your paint; especially since I bet you winch the boat on rather than drive it on. Something that works for me: spray the bow stand/roller down with spray wax before you retrieve the boat. This lubricates what touches the boat (and your paint), and whatever residue is left on the boat is just wax that wipes right off. This is the product I swear by:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/lqp-0140/overview/
http://www.amazon.com/Liquid-Perform...=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

I also use it to remove the scum line as soon as the boat comes out of the water too.
