TopGun deck hatch pin removal?
 

Anyone know the method for removing the TopGun deck hatch pins? Need to do some restoration on hatches and paint top deck.

Its spring loaded and their should be groves cut in them. You need a thin stiff blade like a steak knife and, in theory, you work the pin back into the hatch. I have done dozens and most times they need to be cut and re built with a new pin and spring. Dissimilar metals most times cause the pin to seize in the aluminum block that is encapsulated in the hatch. Its nearly impossible to cut the pin without damaging the fiberglass but its not difficult to repair. Judging by the split in the pic you may need to free up the blocks and re set them.

no prob at all Shawn, pleasure to help out. The pins and springs are available from LipShip but they arent to hard to make. They are just stainless 1/4" round stock and the springs are just 3/16" pushers, most parts can be sourced pretty easy from decent industrial supply or even some of the big box places for that matter. I always make my own and cut to fit. If you see and sort of blistering or bubbling your gonna need to cut the blocks out. It really is a poor design that always seems to be plagued with corrosion issues
