Bolster base fasteners into floor
I have a few loose screws in my bolster base. Went to put a lock nut underneath the floor only to find out that the fasteners are glassed in under the flooring. Does anyone have an easy solution here? Is it a plate that is tapped, can I try a longer fastener to "catch" the threads (maybe the plate lost adhesion to the under side and the screw can't catch it?). Any help, much appreciated.

Should be a piece of 1/4-3/8 flat aluminum plate tabbed into the floor. They usually strip out when the bolts get loose. Can you feel a nut on the bottom?

Perhaps a solution for you here:

Seems like plates tabbed in, cannot get to plate or to put a nut on. thanks for the links, makes a lot of sense now. I will see which method will work best based on clearance and what's going on with the stripped plate.

WE have drilled a bigger hole in the base and then retapped the hole in the floor for a larger bolt.

That sounds like a viable option also, thanks.
