Hey man, I know that boat!! ;)
Congrats on the boat. There's a whole write up I did on speed on the water mag on Jason's work. Phil (lipship) guided jason and jason used some of the best on the industry to get things done such as interior and motors. You are the 5th owner. I bought it from the original owner - an older gentleman from lauderdale that had it on a lift next to his 100+ foot yacht. Boat was built from factory with 525SC's and 3A's and had vinyl graphics named "Finishline". Owner had dollar Marine upgrade the original blocks so it was putting out about 600hp a side. He commissioned a new 39 gun in 04 through lipship and I bought it from Phil in 05 I had Phil take the "finish line" off the side and put chrome "cigarette" script in its place. Powerboat magazine did a bunch of articles on it including all new gauges throttles, underwater lights, swim step, stereo and a full new wrap. Sold it to jason 2011 ish and he ran it for about a year way it was and then went through the whole thing down to basically every boat. Jason is super maticoulous and did an outstanding job. Jason sold it a couple years ago to the guy you bought it from who didn't use it much from what it looks like. He did have TNT go through the drives (which it needed and by the way, after running it in the ocean, take the props off and rinse the shafts. Water gets stuck in between the props and the shafts on 3a's causing serious corrosion if not cleaned - I know because that was one of the issues with it sitting on the lift for 10 years). Last owner also took the custom built swim step off (for some unknown reason - the step was pretty sick, might want to find out where it where it went). I'd estimate that boat has a total of 600 hours on the hull. It's an absolutely awesome boat. You picked a winner. I do believe it's still under propped, unless the last owner fixed that. 3a props aren't cheap though. But it'd be worth getting the right props on there for fuel consumption and speed. Sorry for the ramble. Keep us updated on it!! Tank |
