Joint venture. Cig built the boat with MB power. A pretty big deal if you ask me. I don't know of any major Automotive manufacturer that would share/loan or allow any of their latest technology to be installed in another company's boat. However, somehow Skip pulled it off.

I'm sure Skip made a good deal to get an AMG or three from them in the deal.

Good promo and marketing for both with something cool for each in return.

It was super nasty when I saw it at the museum in 2013. Looked like it had sat outside for the better part of a year without anyone touching it. I suspect the interior is in rough shape considering. Notice the weather "stripes" down the sides...

Did they ever actually run the boat? Or was it just a concept?

From someone who has built a far amount of all electric/hybrid vehicles, I can tell you if anyone says they are less maintence then a IC engine they are kidding them self's. Sure when they are brand new they are nice but get some age on them, let them sit for month on end with out a charger on them and those really expensive battery's don't last any too long.

Don't get me wrong its a really cool concept and I could totally see some of the benefits of it but there a far surprised with the draw backs.

Our P90D Telsa at work takes 8hrs to charge when its dead on there Normal charger, now I'm guessing this boat has 3-4 times the batterys that a tesla does so think 20-30hrs of charge time as most places don't have 100amp to spare just for charging your boat!!!!
