Cmi...

Hi everyone,

I need to replace the stock exhaust on my 35 Cig Cafe. I want to do CMI or lightining headers. I have 454's and Bravos. Who's got good prices and what should I know?

I had CMI Big Tube's on my Cafe w/ 600's, along with CMI mufflers and it's LOUD ! Nice loud, though I was running very little water through them. Do you have noise ordinances where you are ?

In looking around, it seems that they have a $2,495 header deal on right now, though I dont know which one's they are for that cost. Thats alot less than when I bought them, thats for sure.

Regardless, very high quality. Better than the Lightnings, IMHO.

Oh, and what kind of speed were you getting with the 600's?

I think any retailer / distributer of CMI products can sell them at the $2,495 cost . . . it seems that they re-evaluated the cost of them and lowered them to $2,495. Again though, I do not know if these are the Big Tubes or some other model that they make. I would call CMI direct or go to there website for clarification.

My '91 Carbon Fiber Cafe' runs / ran 84/85 mph on fresh water and 86/87 mph on salt water ( lightly loaded ), though this is only from the Gaffrig.

The 600's were done by Dereberry Marine in Texas ( I highly recommend them ), and did not originate from Mercruiser 600's.
