I had a set of Stern Power Drives on a Older Sonic years ago. Stout drive, made to handle a goo amount of Horsepower. No Specialty tools to service and at the time they were still making parts and seals. I think they were MX-107 if I remember. Here is the best picture that I have from my old sonic

The are "Stern Powr" (this is the correct spelling) drives MX-107. The company is still around. sternpowr.com They are very heavy duty drives (advertised as >1,000 hp). I had a pair on a previous boat. Parts are still available at their website.

the Old Race Boat Cat in NJ called "Bounty Hunter" has a pair. Trim is locked at optimal angle, he spins some big old 3 blade wheels...mean lookin set up... boat is light... 468 CI that turn upwards of 7200 rpm the hull ???
