Knot 4 Me 12-16-2016 09:22 AM

I believe it, especially if it has transmissions and TRS drives. That is a heavy package to begin with. I remember Cafe and Bullets weighting in almost the same when rigged. Heavy boats.

Must be the Extra Fiberglass used for the "Special Chair" needed for stability puposes.....lol

Looking a new trucks and my uncle is sitting In our office finding me one. Says a 2500 with the big gas motor will do just fine with 11,000 towing... I called bs need another Diesel. For the tow waight.

315duramax 12-16-2016 01:15 PM

I would never tow anything over 25' for longer than 30 mins with out a diesel. did it once... damn thing was a dog

caseyh 12-16-2016 01:31 PM

I am not buying a gasser

class6 12-16-2016 02:05 PM

Then you better not buy a NEW diesel. I have both new Dodges. A Diesel 3500 with the Asisn 6speed auto and the Dodge 2500 HD 6.4 Hemi. I tow a lot. That Hemi will runs better with 10K on the back than the Diesel.. They have choked the hell out the diesel and Mileage is a pro for buying anymore either

caseyh 12-16-2016 02:43 PM

Was looking at the dodges. Just Bullet did head gaskets and oil cooler in my 6.0. Now looks like injectors tired or sinking money in it.

TELLefant 12-16-2016 04:16 PM

I put my Bullet on the scale last week. It's weight was 8850 lbs with half of fuel. Hope that helps. Damian

cigrocket 12-16-2016 09:06 PM

I pull the Playboy with a 3500 chevy 8.1..... no problem. I also had a dodge v10, worked welll too pulling the mistresss

eightsecmopar 12-17-2016 06:47 AM

I pull my Bullet with a V10 Excursion. Pulls really well
Maybe not the best fuel mileage but plenty of power.

No trailer correct?

My cafe brochure called the cafe 9,600 before fuel, trailer, blowers, ext steering, strainers, anchors, lines, swim platform, spare props, tools, booze, etc..... I believe my cafe is potentially over 14 on the trailer at some points. I use an F350 diesel dally.

Unlimited jd 12-17-2016 08:55 AM

So what did guys do in the 80's when these boats were new? Best diesel you were going to buy was about 165 hp at the flywheel.

caseyh 12-17-2016 10:57 AM

Have seen pictures of a mistress and and it had tension bars/saw bars.

1989mach1 12-17-2016 11:46 AM

My 2016 2500 denali hd diesel z71 is rated for 19,000lb I believe and my boat fully loaded on the trailer is right at 12,000lb I used to pull it with a dodge with a hemi but it was ruff now it's 1000 times better I will not be going back to gas.

1989mach1 12-17-2016 11:47 AM

I believe Bullet is a around 10,000lb

bikergja 12-17-2016 12:56 PM

I pull mine with a gmc 1500 step side with a 350 engine. No problem on boat ramps. Of course Florida is flat and I don't know how it would do on mountain roads. Bigger would be better if you are buying new. Gas mileage is not great either.

caseyh 12-17-2016 03:00 PM

Had no issues pulling in down from Tulsa when I got the boat. Just have had enough of the ford 6.0 Diesel

Unlimited jd 12-17-2016 04:24 PM

I'd take a gm 6.5 over a iho 6.0. They are about on par with an Oldsmobile 5.7 diesel

F-2 Speedy 12-17-2016 04:29 PM

I've pulled two TG's from Buffalo to KC with my 6.0 power joke and its done just fine :santa:

carter38 12-17-2016 04:43 PM

They say a bullet is 8800lbs dry weight. So with a trailer gear and fuel that's a lot more to add to it.

They're great..... Until they're not lol

F-2 Speedy 12-17-2016 06:30 PM

I put a tuner on mine and it really woke it up

Unlimited jd 12-17-2016 06:57 PM

Until it pushes the head gaskets, or burns up the ficm. They actually run pretty nice, and have good power when everything is fixed and right. But damn those things can cost a small fortune to keep running

Correct, aluminum 3-axles trailer from Manning Marine weights 2050 lbs on the scale. So, 10'900 lbs including Bullet with half fuel.

wayne272 12-19-2016 09:08 AM

My bullet on a triple axle trailer, loaded with fuel and gear was upper 12k lbs. if I recall. Tow with '01 drw dodge cummins td with tuner very nicely.

Nice truck. Traded my Ford (6 uh oh) for a 16 Denali Diesel earlier this year. Best move I ever made. I think in the time I had it I went through 3 FICM units, multiple glow plug harnesses, the head gasket deal, and a ruptured oil cooler. Still loved the sound of them, just dont care to drive them anymore
