33 Cafe Open
I understand Cigarette is discontinuing the 33 Cafe Open?
Does anyone know if they are planning any kind of replacement? I believe there is definately a market for this kind of Cigarette! ck |
I'm for turning the Gladiator hull or the 35 into a center concole. It should be available with inboard motors as well. The utility of this type of boat is very appealing. Little cabin to get out of the weather.
Finally, wild paint and trick it out with all the neat stuff Cigarette is famous for. They'd sell! I'd buy one. ck |
I'm alos looking for this type of CC
I have started lookingat CC and would like to know more about the history of the Cafe Open hull design.
Mike, I don't know much about Poerplay's, but I can tell you I have not been impressed with their ability to run well in rough water. A couple of years ago I was running in a Pojer Run from Miami to Key West with a couple of 33 Poweplays with 750+ HP motors. My Playboy with 500 EFI's could take then when the water got rough. |
Concept Boats
Has anyone looked into Concept's 33 CC. Layout is a lot like the Cafe Open?
|
Concept is a nice boat but it not the quailty you are used to with Cigarette.
They rattle and squeek, fit and finish just isn't there. Call Tres or Neil @ Cigarette and see what they plan to do as a replacement for the 33. I think they feel the market isn't willing to pay their price for a center concole. |
CK,
I think your right on your assement of CC and Cigarette. I have been talking to Tres about riggin me a CC if I can find the right hull. He did a cat hull wiht twin 300's and said it was real quick. Whats the story on your TG? |
Dave finished the paint earlier this week, I hear it's a real show stopper. It should be here next week, just in time for storage.
By-the-way Cigarette is using the 35 for a photo shoot. |
CK,
Good luck with the boat and please post or send pictures! I have never seen a boat that Dave has painted tha did not look great! I would leave the boat in Florida and try to get in a few poker runs over the winter. If you need anyone to help with fenders and lines let me know!:) |

Look for an older 31 Center Console and put some new power on it for a fraction of the price.:D

Cgarette, your 31 is a beauty! Is that what G Bush 41 has?
I really think Cigarette should build a 35 CC. |

He had a 28 Cig Center Console.
He then went to a 31 Fountain with twin 225 OptiMax. I'm sure someone could fill this in with a lot more information. Cordell |
any 33' that they put a 235 gallon fuel cell on from the factory gives you the hint.. LOL
|
Hey Cig guys,
Wish I had the extra money for a CC. Down in Charleston a few weeks back looking around the marina's and there are some very nice looking center consoles out there. One of my favorite (I know, I own a Baja) is the Baja 340. The lines are awesome. This was the first one I have seen in the water and it had 300's on it. GREAT looking boat. I would sure check it out before buying. Mark |
Mike,
I did not mean to come across as bashing PP. The two boats that were on the Poker run had huge motors and both were near 100 mph on flat water. They seemed to fly with the bow very high. I apologize to any PP owners. I have asked Tito's for some info on the PP 33 CC. I have placed inquires into go fast CC's on the Florida Sportsman Bulletin Board and have gotten negative responses to any CC's that don't have a self bailing cockpit. The serious anglers feel that if the cockpit is not self-bailing the boat won’t work well for fishing because everything will be forced into the bilge. "Ever had a dolphin on board that bleed like crazy. Do you want all of that blood in your bilge? http://floridasportsman.zeroforum.com/ |
Brad, Have you looked at the Yellow Fin CC? I hear they are comming out with a 36'. I recently ran a 31 for a friend and I was quite impressed with the ride and the speed.
|
XS,
The Yellowfin's seem to be the hot rods of the hard core anglers. . I don't think they offer a cabin which I really need for my kids. I have heard good things about Intrepid’s and I like the forward L-shaped seating. Has anyone ridden in a Intrepid? |
There are quite a few used 31 Fountains on the market and you should be able tt get a good deal on them. I have only been able to find 2 used Cafe Open, 1 Power Play CC and several Concepts. There is actually one Concept 33 w/triple 300's!!
|
Cgarrett,
What years were the Cig 31 CC made? |
|
Brad, The boat is a 1987 with 3 Mercury EFI 220's
I don't know nothing about this boat but here is a link to another 1987 with twin 250 Evinrudes for sale. http://www.avantipowerboats.com/Used42.htm Megabite 3.... Thanks for the link on the 33. that looks very interesting. Cordell |
Fever:
I know nothing more than I read in the auction. The guy who has the auction, and apparently the mold, sent me his phone number to discuss it further. If you are interested I can provide it to you. Tom |
Brad,
What about that Apache CC that's for sale on boattrader?? My son looked a several models of the Sea Craft, they look pretty nice! ck |
Thanks for the heads up CK.
A 9000 lb Apache CC has got to have a great ride! |
