Please help. Running speaker wires on a 38 Top Gun
Has anyone installed new speaker wire in their Top Gun?
I upgraded the Polk Audio to JL Audio LED speakers and a new amp as well. So now we have to run a 6 wire speaker cable. I was hoping to be able to easily run wire the the forward cabin speakers by attaching it to the existing wires and pulling it through. However, the original wire that runs to the forward cabin speakers won’t budge. It’s like it’s fixed to the side of the hull deep in and behind the upholstery. I really really don’t want to start taking apart the upholstery if I don’t have to. So if I can’t pull the wire through, is it possible to just manually feed the wire from the amp to the forward speakers?
Also I noticed there seems to be a bridge or terminal for the speaker wires on the port side. From there i assume the wires run to the amp on the starboard side.
I should mention I also have a new Garmin Fusion Deck and Remote but those are already installed along with the new JL audio speakers. The only audio equipment that is original is a kenwood amp and the speaker wires.
So basically I’m looking for any help or advice. I know very little about marine audio. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
David.
