Thanks, I only have a few. I went out to do the deal, take samples for spectro and such. It's still freezing in Maine so we agreed to leave it in heated storage for 1 more month. I've a guy going to do a structural survey on the 1st or 2nd.. |
Congrats, thats going to be a potent pkg... CMS racing engines in MD? if so they build very nice stuff! :)
|
Thanks, yeah with the current 28s on it its an 80-85mph boat from what I've been told. No reason to doubt the owner, probably he and his father are the straitest shooters I've had the pleasure of meeting.
Motors were dynoed at 32 degrees with more to gain but they wanted to keep them pump friendly.. |
Sweet! Nice boat man. So will she be on long lake or on sebago?

1st spring start... Just to establish a base line I'll be refreshing some wearable items, batteries will be a start along with some small interior upholstery projects and powder coating/painting of purple parts to green . I'm going to have to zinc up the whole stern and verify grounds before splashing it; the owner has protection on the drives and tabs but not tie bar or anything steering related as he boated mostly in fresh (not that that's a reason to not have galvanic protection). Thankfully its a full IMCO setup so I'll give them a shout to see what they have to say.. I have a binder of full of receipts, the original Cig owners manual, the drive owners manual including parts brake down and part number list. Owner has been running Cen-pe-co oils, looks like they may prove slightly more difficult to get around here than others, I'd really like to stick with whats been run in it but if it's going to be a total pita than I'll switch to some Brad Penn... Any thoughts on the oil subject; can of worms I know... Or for those of you who are here in Maine or New England what do you find is available, worthy, and in relatively easy supply? |
Cen PE Co is used heavily by Drag and Tractor pull guys. Great stuff.
|
Call tony at CMS and see what oil he recommends, cant go wrong there.

|

Rhythm and Blues,
Congrats on the new to you Cafe'. I know the 2 previous owners prior to the father/son in SC. offshoredrillin, CMS did the original motors, I was told they were rebuilt after the boat went to SC, hence the 50 hours as new owner stated. Enjoy the new ride. |

Enjoy the new ride. One motor had a valve issue, CMS did not use inconel valves for some reason on the original builds I've been told; strange I know. Both motors were gone through when the issue was discovered.. |
Sweet boat!!!!
