Funny, the best option for a Cafe Racer sat for sale on here for two years and no on jumped on it. It sold for a song compared to the numbers we are talking on this thread.

yup. which is the reason i went with a Cafe, the marina where i was going to keep it had a 36' dry stack limit.

So you had to buy either a cafe or a 38' fountain?!?!?!:champs::daz::champs::champs:

Wife and I have gone back and forth over this and she don't care either way Café or gun but she is my voice of reason and would rather we hold out a little longer if the top gun is what I ultimately want and hopefully even get something a little newer, etc.

Would love a gun with 525's for the turn key reliability even though they may not be as fast as something with bigger power but im not sure I want to mess with blower motors either
Understood, what about one of these? You probably saw them?

The second boat is my Dad's boat that I listed for him. Anyone please feel free to pm me with questions. Keep in mind I much rather discuss over the phone than answer random questions. 2 kids and a new house keep me pretty busy...

I owned a Baja and am a fan. I would own another in a heart beat and actually might in the future. But I gotta say, that 90mph paint looks horrible on that Baja. It makes it look stubby and does not flow well with the lines of the boat, unlike a long sleek gun. Just my .02.

Hi all

new to this forum.

Want opinions on my idea of getting a 35 cafe without power and doing an outboard conversion with bracket and enlarging cockpit for more space?

Perhaps with a pair of new 400 outboards should move pretty good.

DeepV 07-06-2017 07:53 PM

Or is a 31 bullet better setup for conversion?

DeepV 07-06-2017 07:53 PM

And what's difference between 35 cafe and 35 top gun

Cafe's are heavy boats, generally heavier than a top gun. Twin 400s might not really do it justice. Maybe twin 557s..

Full Force 07-06-2017 09:18 PM

I would not ruin a café by doing that... buy a boat with outboards... the balance would suck and destroy any kind of ride.

well I gotta agree with ya there Tim...

DeepV 07-07-2017 08:23 PM

I kinda agree but I wish there was a sport boat in that size with outboards and larger cockpits especially with the larger outboards nowadays

rak rua 07-07-2017 08:39 PM

I love outboards so I'd say it's a great idea, BUT.........

I think twin 400's might disappoint, maybe triple 350's?
Balance could be hit and miss, might need a lot of homework first.
Traditional offshore enthusiast won't like you changing a Cigarette significantly.
It would cost a lot more than you'd ever see back in return.

Theres a couple of 31' Bullets that have been done and the results were very good but not everyone would agree and I totally understand both views.

DeepV 07-10-2017 08:18 PM

How about a 35 re power with diesels? And maybe Arnesons drives?
