Top Gun Build
 

Well, its been a long time since the Café build. After the café I picked up this 1992 Carbon Topgun in 2014 to redo. It sat and sat because my shop got flooded with work. We have been very fortunate to have made incredible customers and really get traction for doing quality work and a reasonable price. Though most of our work comes form out of state. I finally have sold the boat and it is getting built.

History- The boat is a 1992 Carbon added layup. This is the second carbon boat we have done. It originally was a Florida boat stored at Fort Apache. Then was shipped up to Vermont. When I picked up the boat it had been sitting on a trailer for about 4 years if I remember right. 1 blown engine, a mechanic that went to jail, guy just wanted the boat out of its life. I bought it basically in the winter. Was supposed to run and drive. Basically everything was junk. KidApache robbed the motors from me. So it ended up sitting around my shop pretty much stripped. I would work on it here and there. We blueprinted the bottom. repainted the whole running surface. I closed the transom up from being TRS and we are going with a raised X dimension #3 drive. Also picked up a set of 572ci blower motors 825hp. Those are getting refreshed as we speak. Stelling headers, etc. Also adding a custom race hatch to the boat.

I don't post on here often due to difficult to post pics from the phone, but I will do my best to update. All rigging will be done by 88Bullet (Tim Johnson WNY Offshore) We just make things look good, and he makes them run good!

hull sides cleared. have to paint a customers 28 pantera from Ohio before I do the top deck of this boat.

hull sides final clear. Raw clear, not cut or buffed yet.

I like the new and unique look you gave the hull. How is the black and white pattern done on the lower hull sides ?

I dig that paint.

I have to finish this 28 pantera from Ohio first. Then I need to cut and buff the hillsides. Then shoot the top deck. Once the decks done, I have to redo the bearings and lights on the trailer then ill drag it out to WNY offshore to have them cut the x and start rigging!

Cafe is coming along, finally finished the paint this past weekend, seems like it took for ever, now i can finally start assembly. engines are done, were run on dyno and ready to be put in, i have a ton of the parts already powder coated and ready to go back together. interior has been at upholster for a long time so that should be finished up soon? damn there is a lot of parts to put back on, i hope to be on the water in spring of 2018.

Im of here in Fallon for a few weeks and found out that top gun raceway is having a test and tune on the 23rd. Anyone going?

hey guys. spring is coming and this top gun project is making some headway. Will have pics tomorrow of it in clear.

Really need to build a booth this summer. got too much work going on running out of room. Busy is good so I can't complain!

got a set of rebuilt 3's. sand blasted and re painted the drives and gimbals ready to bolt up. All of the engine plates, blocks, bell housings etc are paint matched to the blue on the side of the boat.

The owner of the boat is a retired NYS trooper, so we thought the "thin blue line" was a nice touch so we are bringing blue accents through out.

cabin interior was stripped. Had it all steam cleaned. Need to put up the cabin headliner and put the cabin back together next week. more pics to come tomorrow

heres a couple pics. it was snowy and dreary when it was picked up so no outside pics. whole boat is Ice white, the bottom of the the silver stripe is blue ice, and the pantera logos are ghosted in with a red pearl and darkened edges. its very cool to see in person. I think this boat is getting big engines. In Ohio
