Anyone know history of this '92 38TG ??

Curious what the history is on the 1992 Cig. list on PBC's website. Wonder if/when it was re-rigged, what water has it seen, etc.

Thanks!

Are you referring to the red and white Kevlar boat ?

jwforbes 03-10-2018 09:46 PM

It is Red/White, but doesn't state Kevlar hull. Listing shows 40 hours on Brad Smith 540c.i. engines, #4 drives, etc.

cig92 03-11-2018 02:02 PM

It’s Kevlar. Fresh water 99% of its life. It’s been updated many times and a small fortune spent on it. You will,be hard pressed to find a cleaner one of that vintage. Classic styling and paint, that will always be in style

its my old boat, and it is Kevlar and it is sold, I rigged it and built the 540's with Brad, then it had # 4's put on it. It went to the west coast

I appreciate the replies & boat status.

If there's a question if the boat is still for sale, call Brett @ PBC and ask, I talked to the mechanic who works for the owner of the boat and he's the one that told me it was sold.

Jesus Christ ! I recently sold my boat and everything related to boating. I told my wife "it's time". Then I see this boat and I start thinking again.

The boat is available, buyer couldn't finalize the deal. We just went through it and checked everything over, It's ready to go!

bigboat28 03-13-2018 06:31 PM

How fast is this boat?

cigrocket 03-13-2018 07:07 PM

I would guess 73-75 mph with good setup and actually making the 625hp.

F-2 Speedy 03-13-2018 07:12 PM

Don't make talk about the hp, I was in the dyno room for all the pulls on both engines

I wasn’t questioning the Horsepower. Sometimes like mercury they make a little more then the number on top to be a little bit of a sleeper. :)

Not everybody has a sweet GTX that runs 275mph. What boat did you start in?.......

CIG3 03-14-2018 01:19 PM

Guess you've never been 73-75 in 3-4's on Lake Erie. Never Boring.....

This boat is 26 years old and still immaculate from all accounts. How old is your boat and the bottom is already falling off ? Don't be a phildo

is that why it was “tucked away”?

cigrocket 03-14-2018 06:10 PM

It’s a beautiful boat, Smith EFI power, timeless graphics, nice interior, solid drive package. Not to mention able to buy through performance boat center and they can help finance and possible trades. Not to mention great in the rough.

I’m sure it is to a point, he don’t like to come forward with bad info... but you can’t hide things with boats, especially well known ones
