02 gun hatch not going up
 

Went to the rack and launch to grab some things out of the boat and noticed my hatch was about a foot up. I never put it away like this. First thought to shut it, which I did but then would not raise. Any ideas? Where to start? If there's another thread please shoot it over. Thanks for any help

Your hatch is hydraulic - check the pump motor underneath the rear seat on the port side. The pump works just like a trim pump - solenoids for up and down.

Sounds to me like someone was yanking on the engine hatch and forced it open. That will strip the screw mechanism.

Meh, I always thought they were the screw style. Thus the "click click click" sound when you raise the engine hatch too far. And yanking on those will F them up an strip them. I honestly can't remember what mine was but it does sound like someone pried the engine hatch up and ****ed up the pump, the screw, the ram or some other part of the system which is on to the next question...I'd be like WTF? to the storage place.

you can use a screwdriver and jump the solenoids, same as you can do with a starter if it raises or lowers then you know that's the problem

First question that needs to be asked---What happens when you push up on the hatch switch? Do you hear the hydraulic motor under the seat being energized? Or do you hear silence?

I was also thinking about your hatch remote, if you left the batteries on a stray r/f signal could have slightly opened your hatch.

I thought the same at first, but there is no evidence of foul play. Tested solenoids with volt meter this evening. Down runs the pump but when trying to raise the pump does nothing, no click etc. Solenoid has 12 volts going to it when trying to raise it no power past the solenoid. Down to the switch at the helm which is doubtful or bad solenoid.

Forgot all about that remote. Been in the glovebox since I picked the boat up. Remote wont energize pump up or down. Going to replace the batteries and see what happens.
