03 top gun 1200hp+ best props?
Hello I had 850hp ran 97mph best freshwater with bravos. Engine builder said now 1300hp figure 1200+ to be safe also running scx4 Imco drives now. Looking for best prop set up? I’m sure this is a common combo out there trying to find best setup is a nightmare thanks |
Darr? Most 38TS’s have XR’s or sport masters....SCX’s -4 s aren’t a common setup, so you might want to provide the gear ratio and if you’re running SSM or Bravo style props, what rpms the engine make max power |

yes had 1.5 Xr drives when I bought it with merc 4blade 30p turned dy Keith Eckerts 850. Sx4 are same ratio. Have had the boat for 5 years but have no good pice lol will take some when I go to test props |

New motors make good power up to 6000rpm |

At some point the 1.5 gearing will reach its limit with a 32-34 pitch prop and on the limiter @ 6k......as mentioned.....then you need to go to a 1.35 1.36 gear to get the revs down and pick up speed.
