I like the first wheels.
I bought a set with tires off etrailer. https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Tir...LHAXSJ421.html Not the fanciest but affordable. Major upgrade over what cheapies were on there before. I also upgraded the bow stop to what you showed, major improvement all around. Post more pics of California boating!!! |

Thanks. And yeah, I was a little concerned with the added tongue weight but our truck has bags (even set up with 5th wheel tow) and I was told the added tongue weight will take the bounce out of the trailer (it did bounce a lot like woopdy doo bounce over any bumps) and tow way better, so I'm looking forward to that being gone. Win / win all around I think.

get a 14 ply tire as well, you can thank me later.. those expansion joints on the road and a soft sidewall are a mess.
^^^This^^^ Just make sure the rim is rated for them. Im a little more partial to the second rim just because I had rims on a 3/4 gmc that looked like them. Both are good looking rims in my opinion. |
You ever have one of those things that drives you CRAZY!! For me, it's getting in and out of the boat while on the trailer. The options are (1) drag a ladder out to get in on the sides. (2) step up on the tie bar, drive or tabs to pull yourself up to the swim step (not really a favorite option with all new hardware on the transom). Or, what I usually resorted too, step on the trailer tongue, step on the spare (luckily was positioned in a good spot) and then onto the winch and up onto the bow. This was precarious still even though it was the best option.
I always wanted a ladder at the bow like the cats have. I searched and searched and found a limited amount of options. Most of the pre-fab stuff was either too big and bulky or too small and flimsy. Nothing seemed to work just right. AJ Barrett (Barrett Custom Marine in Havasu that's overseeing this project) heard me talk about a ladder off and on. I didn't really ever directly say, "do it" but he listens and heard it and knew I wanted one, so while it's over at Adrenaline Trailers getting the whole boat slid forward and new bow stop, hydraulic brakes and wheels he slides in this custom ladder design. Needless to say, I'm super stoked. They freakin' nailed exactly what I wanted. Gonna be great for the kids, the wife and I to be able to get in and out easier. Super stoked. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...7e56fce83c.jpg |
They need to put a cage around the ladder for those days when too much fun has been had. :ernaehrung004:

If you haven't already done so, Skateboard traction tape on the square tube will save your neck ... a bit of water/moisture on a shoe and your going down in a hurry (especially with no side rail on the outside of the ladder rung)
After that much work on the boat, it would really be bad if you/ someone was laid up from a nasty spill and the boat was ready for a great time out. |
Boat looks awesome!

Thank you! It's coming along. We're pretty excited to start using it on the regular and have it all done. |
I gotta say the guys that did the work on the trailer (adrenaline trailer in havasu) are great guys. Trailers done - new bow stop, steps, moved boat up and removed bunk over hang new led tail lights new tongue new rims and tires and electric / hydraulic brakes. I go grab it from Barrett and realize my truck brake controller isn’t working and one of the lights isn’t working. I swing it by their shop and they drop everything to fix me up. Super great service and the job they did is amazing. But what do you expect their craftsmanship and trailers are works of art. Kinda cool to be there and see all the trailers in different phases of completion.

In desperate need of a bath. by the way the bio clean hull and aluminum cleaner Tim puts out is absolutely amazing. Exhaust tips straight hazed over from running. Get it wet, spray the cleaner on wipe it a bit abs then spray off. Like magic. then cleaned the boat. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...9ded0b893.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...c1c648957.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...33b551802.jpeg Trailer came out nice! https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5484a637d.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...340f00fc4.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...22a66df4c.jpeg |

So, gonna out myself here a bit. One of the few selling points of buying this Cafe was that the interior was pretty decent when we purchased it a couple years ago. I thought, cool, at least we wont have to do the interior for a bunch of years. Well, fast forward to this year, the interior started getting this reddish stain crap on the white portion of the engine hatch. It wont come out with ANY chemical rub. not even bleach. Come to find out its a fungus deep in the poors of the material. Usually it'll go away being in the sun but really, it drives me INSANE. Trying to get Barrett to have his guy re-do the interior or at a minimum just the engine hatch but everyone is slammed until after the season. So, looks like some interior updates will be coming soon as well. How in depth I don't know yet but I gotta pitch this stained crap.
So, in the meantime, his interior guy tells him of this vinyl paint stuff. I never knew about anything like that. But now that I've used it I'm almost positive the owner before me used it on our Top Gun. Before launching for Supercat Fest I was like F it, I'm doing it. Pulled it into the driveway, tapeed it off and was like, "here goes nothing". Cant get worse. Well, to my surprise, whole job took about 45 minutes and it turned out outstanding for quick fix. Stuff is amazing. It's not a cure but it's definitely a short term fix. Goes on just like spray paint and then once it drys you can wipe down the interior for regular marks with cleaner and a rag. I don't have any pics of it really when it was bad as I didn't really want to take any pics of it lol but here's some of it taped and right after. You can see from the shots above it lasted the wear and tear of 11 days straight boating and getting sun beat and water all over it. It'll do, til the new interior is done. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...6703038ccd.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...67fba57014.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e68b7b707b.jpg |
I have a friend that used the spray a few years ago and amazingly its still looking really good. It's not like new vinyl, but most people wouldn't know the difference until you told them. Great job by the way!!

Was the staining on the cover before your trip or only show up after you got back home? Was it mould or something in a suntan lotion like a bronzer...
The pink mould is here to stay in all light (white) vinyl like materials made in North America as they are banned from using the fungicide that worked so well for years. I have seen new boats being unloaded off the transports that already had staining appear....the fix - mfg's just wanted the hull # to send up a new interior piece(s) that were stained. |
I'd tell ya you did a good job, but you used M25083 Carver White instead of M11111 Cigarette White. :party-smiley-004:

I saw you cruise through the channel at DS. Boat looked great. Nice work!

When it first appears on material it tends to go away with sunlight beating down on it. But after you put the cover on for a few days it comes back and as time goes on it spreads and gets worse and worse and worse until it will no longer go away with sunlight. the vinyl paint works well to cover it but like I said, It’s a temporary fix. Maybe get a season or two out of it with touch ups. |

and thanks for the compliment. It’s coming along. Almost done with this phase. But now I’m looking at new interior and pushing for Barrett to build me some NA 650’s. ;) |
SWEET! Love those pics, looks like a nice area to boat it.
Mild thunder sprayed his seats with red vinyl paint and it looked great and lasted a while. |

Tank, how's the vinyl paint holding up? When you applied it, did it go on with one pass or did it take a few passes? Any need to double coat it?

He hasn’t had the boat out again yet.
This is the time of year he lives his baller life, jet into somewhere, party on a friends boat, jet back out. 😎 |
