I don’t find it horrible. Just a bit obnoxious. |

im in a unique position to be able to work through the headaches that arise. But also, I have to consider how upside down I want to be when I sell eventually. I mean, we’re at the top of the market and when I go sell a big power #6 straight bottom boat, I’ll have the same issues with resale as well. |

Tank it's been nearly a decade but Andy at Maryland Offshore knew of a twin step No6 gun with Sterlings in it sitting in a warehouse that had been in storage for years but was nice. It was purplish/blue colored with hatch scoops. Think the owner wanted around $125k-ish back then and it had a Greek name if I remember right. Might be worth a call to see if it's still sitting in the warehouse.

just a “slight” increase in price at $260! 😳😂👍 If it'd had 600SCI or 700SCI engines, I'd of brought it home but the big Sterlings that'd been sitting a long time scared me off. Wife wasn't enthused about the lack of sunpad but she'd gotten over it lol |

The purple boat was here in Michigan for a few years. Probably 2014-17 ish. Owner had lots of fast boats but couldn't run this one wide open, said it was a handful over a 100mph. Same guy had the yellow 41 saber wicked one, and the boat hauled the Mail on Lake Michigan

Sure, and even though Mercury isn't producing anything like that still, that stuff is still coming out of quite a few engine builders on them aftermarket side till this day. |

I’ve never had anything BUT blown HP in my boats until the 496’s in the cafe. Frankly I missed the blower power. I’m dumb like that though. Lol

I got a lot of respect for the guys running old school power cause it takes time and patience. I know I'm getting old cause I purposely bought another 496 boat instead of blue power so I didn't have to do anything but oil changes/impellers/plugs/etc lol. Told my teenagers that if they ever stop loving the offshore boat when they get older, this old workaholic will trade it in on a twin outboard tritoon.
the 496’s were great. Get in, fire up and pin the sticks. All day! I did replace a block when we first bought the boat due to low compression but after that. Never one problem. We got the cafe as a beater for the kids. But now my 14 year old is like, “I want to go faster. Where’s the rooster tail?” Lol and my 10 year old loves it too so, time to get something a little beefier and faster. I think Elvis said it best, “Little less conversation, little more action” |

Watching my 13yo son grin cruising at 50mph and seeing that smile just get bigger the further I push the sticks forward is priceless 😊 I only got a few more years til the 15yo daughter is headed for college so it was the perfect time to get back in the game with another go fast boat. |
You think you want big nasty blower motors until you get big nasty blower motors , then you`re like $hit, that turnkey boating was a lot less stressful.

One of the main reasons I'm just keeping mine with a simple carb set up. I definitely love the idea of big nasty blower motors, but I don't know **** about engines or where to even where to start if there are problems. I'm lucky to know the difference between the prop and spare tire for the trailer....:picard1: |
