I can’t wait!!! First time we actually got to see it!! I gotta say, things so nice I don’t want to get it wet. Hopefully it’s ready to run wed. Found some water in the drive. Prop shaft seal. The master, Vern at west coast drives, pitting new seals and filters in. Barrett doing full service to the 9’s. All the things. ;)

The TG looks amazing Tank. Its funny you said "pitting" news seals in...sometimes pitting in the prop shafts causes the water intrusion! Hopefully not in your case, and it just needs new seals. But man, it is a sweet boat, only thing I see that I would change is the carpets, change to the new style flooring. Everything else is perfect! Cant wait for the running vids.

no no no. No “pitting”. “Putting” new prop shaft seals. I’m all too familiar with pitting prop shafts. Our last top gun with 3a’s had it happen. If you leave the props on water sits on the shafts and causes corrosion. These prop shafts look brand new. They good. :D

funny you mention the carpet. Wife was standing on it and was like, “the carpet is really comfy and the seasons hard to care for” lol. Plan is to put Seadeck in. We’ll see.

I like that a lot!! They did a good job.

put the boat back into storage today until tomorrow when we hopefully get the drives back from Vern.

Loaded up the cabin and dialed that in. Last owner left some nice custom fenders and embroidered lifelines. 😁👍

Looks like an LED stick next to that CIG fender. What's that for?

it’s a light pole. Plugs into the anchor plug on the deck. It goes all different colors plus white at top. Different setting. Super bright, low volt.

I had a plug on the dash and one on the transom of the cafe.

Seahawk 2000 04-03-2024 10:57 PM

Cool!

Helmwurst 04-04-2024 09:18 AM

That pretty cool, is it legal as a nav light? Might cause a little night blindness.

87MirageIntruder 04-04-2024 09:25 AM

Are you sure that's not a lightsaber????

thisistank 04-04-2024 01:38 PM

lol.

it has a button in it that changes all different colors and will turn off the stick portion so just the top light is on and white like a standard anchor / nav light.

it’s cool.

That's awesome!.
That boat, it's name, and the Van Halen track rock.
I'd rock Van Halen as a ceremonial kick off every time I fired that up at the dock to take off.

I live my life like there's no tomorrow

And all I've got, I had to steal
Least I don't need to beg or borrow
Yes I'm livin' at a pace that kills

Ooh, yeah

Ahh

finally ran it today. All
good. Nice shake down. Only ran it up to
like 70 and 4K RPM. Barely got into the boost at all. Pulls like a freight train. Sounds good even with mufflers. Runs smooth. Hopes it off with 110 octane since I didn’t know how long fuel was in there.

funny side note. It has those aircraft lockable fuel caps and I didn’t realize it and threw out the key on accident! So, go to fill
up and realize no key. Took it back to Barrett and they drilled the locks out. That delayed the launch. But after worked it out. All good. Launching again tomorrow.

I didn’t take many photos as I was dealing with all
the things. But maybe some more pics tomorrow.

Bro. Done be dumb. You know there’s always room for you guys!! ;)

thisistank 04-06-2024 08:46 PM

So, topped it off with 100
gallons of 91. My boys, daughter and a buddy ran it up river to pirates cove. Nice day. Bumped it up
and
say 90 for a moment when a stupid sea doo decided he wanted to race me after he wouldn’t get out of the
****in way I finally get around him and his buddy and im
at like 65 dude finally looks over as im
passing him and thinks its race time. This was just after a seadoo jet boat decided to make a hard left right in front of us. Man im
telling you, these dipsh*ts pay zero attention. So, I’m ALLLL done with seadoos and just want to
get away. I look over and now dude is doing like 65 next to me. I’m like “not today” let into it a little and wave bye bye. Hit 90 Then backed it down to 65 again and kept on truckin. I don’t want to race dude. I just want to get away from you!. lol. Anyway, kids got to drive. Everyone had fun. Boat runs great. Seems everything is working good. Except lost a tach for a short time but once I turned motors off and floated then turned ghem
back on it was fine. Those motors don’t like
to idle through the channel though. They like
to run!

pulled it out a bit ago. The cradle trailers are soooooo much better than I beam. Easy load on no problem. And im
getting used to the pros spinning in around the docks. Just takes some getting used to.

few pics.

Knot 4 Me 04-07-2024 03:10 PM

Any initial hesitation about the paint should be long gone. Thing looks bad a$$, period. I bet you could have steered that thing like Tommy Lee steers a houseboat on the first outing. Congrats, my man!!

lol. Yeah man the paint is flawless. When seen in person, there’s no disliking. It’s beautiful. The paint job is crazy nice and in perfect shape. Not a Nick or scratch on it. Kindve unnerving. I was docking and dealing with props turning in instead of out and nearly hit the dock but my kid saved it last minute like a stud. But I was thinking, whelp, first day and I’m gonna screw the paint up. lol The whole props turning in is gonna take some getting used to.

and yeah, it was cool running it past couple days. But you know, checking everything making sure all is good. Keeping close eye on gauges. Different than running the last boat where you just floor it for 45 minutes. lol.

have some cool videos but can post on here since the format doesn’t allow it. :(

we’ll
be back out week from wed to run it again for supercat fest west in havasu.

JaayTeee 04-08-2024 05:44 AM

Do you have the drives trimmed clear in when docking?

If yes, try try trimming the drives a couple clicks positive (past neutral)

Helmwurst 04-08-2024 09:06 AM

Ugh! I guess there are no docks there and you have to beach it? That would make me cringe BIG TIME! You made a good purchase there; it is an awesome boat. I would drive by it almost everyday on the BT lot and just admire the quality and design. Congrats again!

I think you’re right. I was actually in a text thread with Kelly (payupsucka) and he recommended just this after I was complaining of the difference between turning in and out and how the boat reacted so. Much different around the docks with turning in. The next day we ran it was way better when I had the drives kicked out more. Still not as good as spinning out and being able ti
just walk it around the docks with the sticks (no wheel), but a lot more manageable with the drives kicked out so the thrust of the prop isn’t just pushing agains the transom.

That’s how they roll in havasu. Beach it up. Charmaine sand in that photo is super fine. I actually checked the keel when I got it on the trailer and it was good to go. But I get it. I try to just coast in real soft. I’m actually more worried about passengers bringing sand from their feet and walking on the deck. This, the yellow towel on the bow in the photo :D

TexomaPowerboater 04-08-2024 12:59 PM

Bet that was pretty cool hitting 65-70 where the old boat topped out at and then realizing you still had 20-30+mph left in her.

for sure. It just purrs at 70. Barely into boost. :D

hit 90 for a short burst and it was not trimmed out well and only 46/4700 RPM. still plenty left.

Sounds like you could benefit from a few trimsync buttons on the dash.

I bet you've ridden in a few top gun unlimited's or maybe a few twin step top gun's. What is the difference in ride at the higher speeds in a twin step cigarette vs a big power non-step cigarette?

trimming wasn’t the problem I just wasn’t running long enough to mess with it.

and maaaaaaaaan I ain’t getting into a “ford vs Chevy” debate lol. I will say, I’ve never been disappointed in a twin step cigarettes ride. Rough or calm. ;)

but I do love a big old school straight bottom big power, big drive cigarette (obviously). :D
