Top gun F2 boat cover fits like a glove on a cafe! :D i just didn’t tuck the bow over the tow eye so it’s a bit wrinkly in the front. Otherwise. Perfect fit, like it was made for it. |

Went out last weekend. pretty bumpy, wind chop and about a 3.5 swell. but fun run. Saw John Teague who was out on his new to him Fountain. Saw a cool yellow Schiada and a *****en like 40's wooden boat with twin Johnsons on it. Oh, and this big'ol yachts been docked up in the harbor for the past two months. People use it quite a bit to go out to the islands and what not. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1b48b14065.png https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...0d6727c1f9.png https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...dd1f8247d0.png https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1b9c8000d5.png https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f1a121e43d.png |

Tank, invest in these for the tires, if stored outside:
I highly recommend them; have them on all of our trailers that see UV light from the sun. |

yea. I’ve lost a few bearings over the years. It’s such a PITA. I really dig the way your trailer is set up with the bolt on spindles. |

how do you like those torsion axles, never had a trailer with those
|
Torsion axles are great, just dont put LT tires on them, up grade to 14 ply tires and its night and day. soft sidewalls also put undo tension or the torsion axles while turning in a tight spot.
|
Only problem is if you toast a bearing and it damages the spindle, you end up replacing the whole axle, around $800-900 plus the lead time to replace the axle, disassemble and reassemble. The spindles are welded in, and they will not let you just replace a spindle assembly because of the rubber inside the torsion tube.
I would actually like to get away from mine and into a leaf sprung axle setup. |
My leaf spring trailers you could not. Replace just hub, had to buy whole axle too, guess it depends on the trailer |

If you look close at the pic I posted of the bearing / wheel gone it looks like the nut is straight up rusted onto the spline and it looks like the spline is damaged from corrosion. I was prepared to replace the whole axle but luckily, when it was all taken apart and cleaned it was in very good shape. I lucked out. |

That's some cheap piece of mind right there. Had the valve stems on our Top Gun trailer rot out from storing out doors. Those would resolve that. I found a set of 7 Alcoa aluminum trailer wheels for $700 on CL. I want to swoop them up and get rid of those cheesy chrome / rusted wheels.

I like these silver and grey kind of match the boat, and pretty inexpensive.

Been a while since we chatted Tank! Love the pics! Glad to see the fam and u enjoying the new boat. |
the 5 star that myco used to use was the best to me, they are inexpensive and my wheel guy can paint them because we all cut that one corner too tight and curb them...also make sure your center cap has drain holes...https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...3cd7b8b1a9.jpg

https://recstuff.com/trailer-wheels is where I buy trailer wheels.
Or shop there, and then buy elsewhere for a better price. If anyone is going to replace 15" wheels, go ahead and make the jump to 16" wheels. You have a WEALTH of options on running WAY better tires on 16" wheels. |
I'm late to the party here... but,Congrats, Tank....and welcome back to the Cig. Family!!!
